Seriously, I’ve been wondering the same thing
It’s actually how I always used to quote folks before we got these fancy-shmancy quote functions on these boards. It’s really much quicker for me so it’s for convenience. Plus it’s smaller so my ridiculously long posts look less-ridiculously-long.

You sir, are a funny motherfucker.

And why the fuck doesn’t he sign his posts anymore?
Err…to be specific, it’s the Catholic church…not really 100% representative of all of the off-shoots of it. And times do change but churches slower than others. The Episcopal church, which I was raised in, now accepts gay folks and recognizes gay marraige but is very Christian in most of their beliefs.
It is strange because the anti-gay stuff in the actual Bible stories really is just how you interpret the lines and yet it’s become an entire movement simply based on a few peoples’ interpretation. Makes you wonder who started all this stuff.
Decree!! However that word is used! We shall henceforth quote Stev-o in italics as well!
Hey I was raised Episcopal too dude.
I hate you all.
…and yes the large marge (sent you) was by far the funniest part of the movie.
And why the fuck doesn’t he sign his posts anymore?
Cuz all the mean people complained so I stopped.
We shall henceforth quote Stev-o in italics as well!
Mr Data, make it so.
I hate you all.
HEY!
The “Golden Rule” of christianity, if I’m not mistaken, is believe in jesus or burn in hell for eternity… Do I have that wrong?
In any case, I was raised jewish and it was just as stupid.
And, yeah… it seems much harder to copy shit and make it italicized than just to highlight part of the post and hit the “quote” button. But that’s what makes Steve-o special.
^Cool. All good then. ![]()
is believe in jesus or burn in hell for eternity…
That’s how I WISH it was but sadly the ‘forgiveness” schtick has ruined all of the cool Angry God storylines. It’s why so many convicts convert once they’re in jail.
it seems much harder to copy shit and make it italicized than just to highlight part of the post and hit the “quote” button.
Heh…like I said, I’ve been doing it for a while. Sticking a around a line is just quicker, especially if you’re doing quotes from multiple posts.
^Have you used the “quote button” to the left of people’s posts, under their avatars?
<--------
Highlight the part of the post you want to quote, hit the quote button under the persons avatar (not in the compose box) and the part you wanna quote instantly appears, in quote brackets, in the quick reply box at the bottom of the page. you may know that, but I can’t imagine a quicker way.
but hey, we like you anyways!
Schooled
holy schnikes!! I didn’t know that, man that was fun
^Have you used the “quote button” to the left of people’s posts, under their avatars?
Indeed, I have. Want to know another trick? Try typing a bunch of stuff in this box at the bottom and then accidentally have your pinky brush the Escape key on the keyboard. It’s fun. Try it.
Either way, that’s why I usually use something else (Notepad, Outlook, etc) to type out messages and then just copy them over to post. It’s happened too many times. Plus Outlook/Word spell-checks for you as you go with those convenient red squiggly lines and stuff. Either way, the italics come so naturally after years of use, it’s no big deal.
^So you’ve always quoted like this? I have only noticed it recently.
Yeah, when you used to “rip” me you used the “real” quote boxes like did here for Katiemay’s statement…

^So you’ve always quoted like this? I have only noticed it recently.
I’ve done it on other boards but not here where I used quotes. Recently I just got sick of the quote function here and figured I’d do it everywhere. Besides, italics are pretty and stuff.
