Type your thoughts (Part 1)

we are living in some horrible times, we’re just more immune to it now

If these are “horrible times” then they’ve always been horrible. This stuff has always gone on…even more-so…it just wasn’t reported as much since we live in this age of 24/7 media and they always have to scramble for interesting stories to keep us engaged…and, sadly, “interesting” is often a synonym for negative. A story of some brutal murder of passion is always more interesting than a story of charity. That’s just how it is.

But I don’t get how folks can read these stories and say “the world is horrible” and then look around them and see all the nice normal folks going about their way and still believe that. Unless, of course, everyone around you is horrible to but then that means you’re hanging around some bad folks. Most folks who don’t make the news and just try to get by are the majority…not all this bad stuff. I suppose it’s better here than in some other regions of the world.

Major goose bumps here…

Boston Bruins Fans Sing National Anthem…

Yeah, unreal and classy! Loved it!

^I love that kind of stuff. It drives me crazy when folks want us all to be silent during the anthem. I just look at other countries and how they proudly bellow out their anthem and wish we did that more…we should always do that. And kudos to that singer…too many of these singers make the anthem about themselves.

Can anyone recommend their favorite Massive Attack album?

I’m just getting around to listening to the Mad Season release from 1995… Layne Staley, Mike McCready… I’ve never been a huge fan of Pearl Jam but whatever the case this release has something special.

Not Zooey! Say it ain’t so, Closed Captioning!

Uh oh … Zooey’s got an older sister … let’s bring her into custody just in case she was a bad influence in lil Zooey :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

^But she’s a detective with the guy from Angel! It can’t be!

Fuck snow… :shifty:

^We have rattlers all year long. One time doojette and I had one trapped between the two of us on a narrow trail near our house. That had us both scared like little babies, haha! :open_mouth:

^Aww…snakes are adorable. Used to have one as a pet.

^Pet snakes are great. Wild rattlers that are scared and ready to lash at you on a narrow trail with no place to go… not quite as adorable.

I think I’m finally in the process of making the move to Athens, GA and man does it feel good

Wild rattlers that are scared and ready to lash at you on a narrow trail with no place to go

Well don’t step on the buggers, silly rabbit.

Any snake that has the potential to kill you with a bite,

On the bright side, the hallucinations in the woods that you’ll see as you succomb to the poison are probably fantastic.

Rad news man! Great music town!

^^I love when Kimmel does that segment. It’s always funny how folks lie because they just don’t want to admit they haven’t heard of certain news or haven’t heard a movie.

My cranium is a whirlwind of thoughts right now. I spoke to my biological father today which is kind of a big deal since I never have before. I haven’t had any contact with him since I was a baby and my mom told him to get lost when she married my dad who legally adopted me. I’ve wanted to call him for years, but didnt really know what to say. Piper has an appointment with a geneticist on Monday to make sure she isn’t genetically predisposed to holt’s hearing loss and I realized I only know half my medical history. I figured if I ever had a valid reason to shock the shit outta this man, now is a good time lol. He was very nice and helpful. He asked about me and said he was glad to hear from me. I kept it brief, maybe 5 or 10 minutes and there was no talk from either of us about future contact…which I’m kinda bummed about. I intended to aak him for his email address but I got nervous and forgot. Thr phone call went great though. I have had anxiety over this for soooo long and it feels great to have it checked off my bucket list. Plus the fact that he was so nice and didn’t hang up on me will probably have some sort of positive affect on my psyche.
