UFO's/ET's

Dude…my friends are idiots so I’ve seen almost every UFO/Alien Autopsy/Cropcircle in the making video you can imagine. They are all crap and none of them are very “official”. It’s usually some bright light in the horizon, probably from a vehicle on the road, or some floating thing in the sky, but then the camera will start shaking so it looks like its moving in the sky.

No, I mean like a real good quality, indisputable video. Not just, “Oh I guess that could be a UFO” type crap. I do believe that there may be life “out there”, as there are billions of stars and some of them must have a solar system similar to ours, but I in no way believe that there are any aliens visiting earth and making circular designs in fields, or abducting a bunch of hillbillies and performing anal insertions. You don’t think there is any correlation between the most “UFO sightings” happening in Texas and that also being the state with the most drive-thru liquor stores?

Hell, I’ve seen UFO’s before. Just because I see something in the sky that I can’t explain, does not mean that someone from another planet is hovering up there. Just because something is “Unidentified”, that doesn’t mean it’s from another planet.

It’s just something like religion or ouija boards or santa claus. If you believe in it, then it’s real I guess.

those pictures of crop circles are cool

and I think its pretty close-minded to think there isn’t a planet somewhere in the thousands of galaxies that could sustain life. But, I’m not sure if they have visited us for sure, or even if they would have the resources to do that kind of thing.

Time for my “UFO Rant”

I just don’t know about UFOs. I kind of believe that there IS likely life on other planets but I don’t really believe that they’ve ever come here. I mean, look at all the assumptions of UFOs:

We always assume that they have VASTLY greater technology than us - Why would this happen? Supposedly the whole universe was created all at once. Why would one alien race be SO much more advanced than any other? How do we know that WE aren’t the most advanced planet in the universe? I’d say we’re doing pretty well.

UFOs ALWAYS come during nighttime - I’ve never heard of a single story of one coming during the day. Why would they care about when they arrive? If they REALLY wanted to hide their presence they’d turn off all the bright lights and crap on their ships.

UFOs never do ANYTHING - I mean EVER. Every story about them is people see them and then they go away. They never land anywhere, they never attack anyone, they never do anything aside from the occasional abduction story. Apparently every UFO ever just floats high in the sky and then disappears. Why would anyone do that? If it was humans arriving on another planet, they’d instantly land and start wandering around and checking stuff out and might even try to communicate with the locals. This is except for when they randomly make symbols in crop fields in the middle of the night with no one noticing them making the symbols. Let’s just say that I think a lot of farmers have WAAAAY too much time on their hands.

Aliens ALWAYS kidnap people and do anal probes - Why do they capture people and release them? Why wouldn’t they just keep their specimans? And what’s with the anal probes? In theory, they don’t even know what body part it is. If it was US capturing aliens, I guarantee that we wouldn’t be returning them so they could tell their friends about it.

UFOs NEVER show up around major cities - They always show up in rural Kansas or in some farm field where there’s ONE guy within a 50 mile radius of where the UFO landed. And you never see a major news network discover these aliens. Not once. If aliens don’t know anything about Earth, then why would they care where they land? Oh, and by the way…why don’t radars EVER pick them up?

People always assume that aliens look humanoid just like us but with weird shaped heads - Why are aliens always looking like that? Why aren’t there stories of aliens that look like the ones from the movie Alien? Or of aliens that crawl on all-fours or have their heads where their butts would be? It’s ALWAYS the same humanoid alien. And also why wouldn’t they look exactly like us? What if life is exactly the same on all planets and they just speak different languages or whatever. You never hear of that theory. And why do they always assume that aliens have NO problem breathing on our planet? I’ve never heard of an alien wearing a space suit.

Why don’t we EVER find satellites or space probes coming our way? I mean we’ve sent out throusands of satellites and probes out into space that are just out there floating randomly. We’ve NEVER seen one coming from an another planet. Wouldn’t it be normal for a planet to send out an unmanned satellite before they have the technology to fly to other planets? It would VERY smart for them to monitor another planet via a satellite before they ever attempt coming here. Why haven’t we seen ANY of these?

UFOs are ALWAYS some disc-shaped ship. - ALWAYS. They never have sleek rectangular ships or shuttles or standard-looking planes. It’s ALWAYS a disc.

People always assume that normal physics NEVER apply to UFOs -They always sail away at a billion miles per hour and can zoom up and down without any propulsion. They may be aliens but it don’t mean that basics physics still don’t apply to them. They still need basic propulsion like any ship but you never hear about that. Even the ships on Star Trek and Star Wars needed propulsion.

And that’s the worst thing…ALL of the excuses that people make for why we can’t see UFOs…cloaking devices, warp-speed, etc etc…these ALL come from Star Trek or Star Wars. ALL of these excuses. These people are just spewing things from a movie and don’t even know it.

There’s just FAR too many holes in these stories of UFOs. I don’t buy em. But it’s fun to imagine and wonder “what if” but it’s mostly best to make fun of them.

^^ Someone get this man a drink. Nice post Steve-o

i’m a firm believer that there HAS to be some other sort of intellectual life form out there…

as for UFOs, idk… but crop circles… yea that shit is not fuckin human.

It’s easy Steve-o. Republicans. I’m sure aliens don’t have them and hence, are more advanced.

Don’t believe necessarily in UFOs, but I do believe in ETs. The statistical probability is too great not to believe there is life somewhere out there. Whether that life form has developed the technology and the motivation to come here is another story entirely.

If there is a LF smart enough to travel here in real time (whatever that is), then they would be smart enough to monitor us without letting themselves be observed. And once they observed us, they would high tail it the hell back where they came from, because we’re just to screwed up for any intelligent race to want to have anything to do with us.

^ Good point too Bill.

I guess I was a bit hasty in my initial response, because I do believe that there must be life out there somewhere, but I’m just saying I don’t believe all these kooks and “former NASA/Area 51 employees”, who say they’ve witnessed extraterrestial life on this planet, but not one of them can provide any kind of actual evidence.

This also got me thinking, if all these beings are extra terrestrial, does that make us terrestials?

Oh I love Fire In the Sky!

I called bullshit…I guess the only thing that would convince me otherwise is the movie Mars Attacks. Hah, that’s how I picture it.

^^Yes.

i believe

but not in those crop circles, i saw some dudes make them on discovery channel

i saw some crazy shit in the sky above a bridge near my town about 6 years ago and i am a fucking believer. people say seeing is believing and i have no doubt that what i say was other-worldly and i will fight anybody who doesn’t believe me.

good rant stevo

i’d say that we are advancing technologically at an exponential rate, yet we have no idea how to respect the power that comes from this advancement. we use this advancement to build bigger computers, better cars and mostly more deadly weapons, yet we can’t find a way to curb famine? i dunno, i guess that’s not really part of the conversation here. my real point is: if the universe is billions of years old, and human beings are at best a couple hundred thousand years old, and the vast majority of our technological leap has only happened w/in the last 50 or so years, why wouldn’t/couldn’t there be older or simply more advanced civilizations out there? i mean, even ancient human civilizations, such as the mayans and the egyptians seemed to believe in UFO’s and strange visitors. at least they depict some pretty classic images in thier hyroglifics.

i don’t think they necesarilly always try to hide their precence. daytime sightings:

seriously? did you look at those pictures in my first post? you think a farmer did those? okay, if you say so. i’ve also seen the videos of people making crop circles w/ ropes and boards. so it can be done. the only thing is though they can be pretty cool looking, the human-made ones are geometrically imperfect, they take many, many hours and sometimes days to complete and the corn or wheat is simply crushed and flattened down. the authentic (meaning: no solid human-made explanation) crop circles seem to appear overnight, are absolutely perfect geometrically (not to mention some of the patterns we see are fractal. WAY too intricate and detailed to pull off with such simple tools), and the stalks are braided, not just crushed down. i may be naiive but i just don’t think some farmer somewhere has that kind of capability.

as far as them landing, here’s a short segment from a documentary on a UFO landing in the UK in 1980, though it’s probably just Ian ;): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wj3dYa72uZc&feature=related

here’s another one regarding a UFO landing somewhere in canada. it’s a little x-filey, but come to your own conclusion:

do they? always? i mean i’m asking. i don’t have any idea what they do or don’t do. but i don’t believe every single account of abduction is false. nor do i believe they are all true. unfortuantely sci fi movies and tabloid papers have rendered the subject just too rediculous to believe for most people, but i think there might be some degree of truth to abduction. but i guess actually i really don’t know. i’ll just shut up about this now.

maybe, if they exist, aaaand if they’ve been seen by people…that’s what they look like? human-like. maybe the human-like design just works. again, i’m just throwing it out there. not saying YES or NO in a black/white fashion, just keeping an open mind.

do you know for sure we have never seen non-earth satellites or space probes? i don’t know that we have or haven’t, i’m asking you. i mean, i never have or anything, but maybe others have seen such things. here’s some UFO footage from NASA though:

well, all i can say is that if UFO’s exist, and they visit us, the technology they have is probably pretty advanced and can maybe do things we here on earth are not yet capable of. it wasn’t long ago that airplanes, television and something like the internet was inconcievable, and look at us now…we’re goin to the moon!

in my opinion, we just don’t have the whole story yet. maybe we never will. it’s a fascinating topic though with enough evidence to fill in maybe some of those holes a little. definately the questions far outweigh the answers, but answering “bullshit just because i say so” dosen’t actually answer anything ;D

Interestingly, it was only 10 or so years ago that the government admitted that Area 51 existed. Prior to this, the government would not verify it was an actual place, therefore implying that no rules, laws or otherwise applied to the Area. In every single picture taken of Area 51, there is someone in a jeep, watching the photographer in the background…look for some on google. Recently, it has been disclosed that Area 51 has been moved…To where, eh, no one knows…

::Removes flashlight from chin::

^On the Area 51 note, my Dad always knew it existed since he was in the army and was stationed in Arizona. I guess as a staff sargeant, they knew it was there but none of this crap about UFOs being there.

As for all the videos, charlie, I’m sorry I can’t buy them. (Also I can’t look at them from work since youtube is blocked). It’s far too easy for people to doctor videos these days or mistake other objects for UFOs. And if these things have shown up over major cities, why is the most we’ve heard of them come from a random clip on YouTube? Why weren’t there thousands and thousands of accounts…why were the major news ever notified. This stuff doesn’t add up.

And I don’t buy that the government is covering up EVERY single siting that may have gotten out. They couldn’t even properly lie about Pat Tillman’s death in Iraq without the truth coming out. The government isn’t that competent and the image of the lock-tight, well-oiled cover-up machine of the government is straight out of the X-Files…it don’t work that way in real life.

And I didn’t even mention the whole concept of space travel. SPACE IS HUGE!!! Even if you wanted to get from here to other systems detected just within our own galaxy, it would likely take multiple lifetimes. I mean, if you wanted to travel just from one end of the milky way to the other and travelled at the SPEED OF LIGHT, it would still take you close to 100,000 years to get across. And that’s at the speed of frickin light and it’s a good guess that most spaceships, even ones used my technologically advanced aliens, would be traveling much slower. Even if they came from a planet halfway across our own galaxy, it would require massive amounts of time to travel here. And if they’re coming from OUTSIDE the Milky Way, who the frick knows?

So obviously to even justify space travel and UFOs, you’d have to assume they have one of a few things. Either their ships have some sort of mega “warp speed” which is, again, a theory that would be taken directly from Star Trek and there’s no reasonable science behind traveling that fast and not ripping your ship apart or crashing into something. The only other theory is if the aliens are either immortal or cryogenically freeze themselves and travel at normal speeds, both of which are also straight out of science fiction movies. Considering the size of many of those ships, there isn’t even the space for that cryogenic stuff and it just isn’t feasible to wait hundreds of thousands of years just to “observe” a planet and then fly off. The only other explanation would be some sort of teleportation which also isn’t scientifically possible and, again, is straight out of Star Trek.

The logistics don’t add up. AT ALL. You’d have to make a monstrous amount of assumptions to figure out how they would even get here, let alone whether people cover them up if they did.

Stevo

yeah i definately can’t argue the fact that it’s easy to doctor vids these days. it’s altogether possible that every vid that’s out there is either doctored or maybe it’s some secret new military plane or some shit. i really don’t know for sure. but on the other hand we don’t know everything there is to know in the universe, and just because we can’t figure out a possibility for something does not actually make it impossible. it just means we don’t know. i mean, we don’t have the technology for something like teleportation right now, but does that mean we never will? i don’t think so. 100 years ago, something like a modern microwave oven was laughable at best. something like space travel (meaning our real, modern kind) was completely ludacris. today’s cell phones were pretty much science fiction as late as the 1980’s. see what i’m sayin?

good conversation though. you make some good points.

since i’m all wrapped up in this right now anyway, i have a pretty funny story. and lemme just start off by saying i’m not trying to start a religious conversation and also that i mean no offence to anyone of the christian persuasion.

i listen to this radio show “defending the truth w/ bob dutko” from time to time. it’s a christian talk show, and the host is one of those know-it-all types with various degrees up the wazoo. his schtick is to prove the existence of god (not a universal god, or even the unified theory of quantum physics, but the god of the bible who gets mad at you for being gay, having sex before marriage and all that) through the scientific method. he prides himself on being “joe logic” and has an answer for EVERYTHING. basically, he’s an intelligent and very well-spoken guy who’s very good at painting the bullseye around the dart, no matter what the topic at hand is. i’ve never once heard him admit he was wrong or even that he didn’t know something. if he ever really does run up against something he can’t concoct an answer for on the spot, the answer is “god is mysterious”, which then makes him right. i don’t know why i listen, i think i just like to get pissed off at people i consider arrogant and self congratulating. i feel the same way about bill o’reilly. i can’t stand him, but i could listen to him all day. i’ve called in to debate with bob a few times but i can never get through.

anyway, one day the topic was UFO’s and ET’s. his angle is that they can’t exist because the bible says that the heavens were made for man to glorify god, and says nothing of life outside of earth. fine, fine. that’s the cut and dried religious answer. the funny thing was that he admitted to seeing a UFO a few years back. he described it as a massive disc-shaped object with pulsating lights, hovering over a field for over an hour (so he got a really good look at it). he was scared to death, his mind was blown and his faith was shaken…how could it be? the bible says nothing of the existence of such things! well, his final answer: it was a trick of the devil to persuade him off his christian path. yup.

classic.

^LOL! I don’t know how you could listen to that stuff. I don’t like listening to stuff that pisses me off and I’m sure that dude would piss me off endlessly.

But, hey, I hear ya…there’s definitely stuff we don’t know about…but there is a lot about space that we HAVE figured out…at least to make you have a REAL stretch in logic for UFOs to actually make it here to Earth. I mean, in order for UFOs to work correctly, it would have to be stuff we couldn’t even fathom outside of science fiction movies. It’s a fun diversion for sure and makes you think…I can’t argue with that. Keep in mind, I’m not saying I don’t believe in life on other planets. If life could somehow live on this planet the, obviously, it could happen somewhere else in the infinite universe…it be more amazing if this WASN’T the fact…I’m just not sure if they’ve come to visit us yet.

"Snowflake UFOs Spotted Observing External Fuel Tanks on Multiple STS missions.Nov.8.2007

It appears that snowflake shaped or some form of crystalline ships are observing external fuel tank drops from STS space shuttle missions. Two so far have been captured on film by multiple STS crews.

The video above is from STS-120 and the camera man actually becomes distracted by it and focuses on it rather than the fuel tanks he is supposed to be filming.

The crystalline object has symmetrical structure, like a two pronged trident with branches. It seems to de-accelerate and turn to follow the tank."
