I think I might be going considering it’s about 5 minutes from me. Last year was quite fun with them.

Umphrey’s Ticketing pre-sale starts September 19, at 10:00 am; the pre-sale is for three-day passes only at a discounted price of $120.00; one must be 18 or older to purchase the three-day pass
general tickets will be available on Saturday, September 23, at 10:00 am; tickets will be available at The Vic Theatre box office with no service charges
three-day passes will be made available as part of the general on-sale; the passes will be $130.00

yeah, the price tag is a bit much…but i may have to be there. in fact, i’m at about 95% right now…tix go on sale at 10am central time???

I don’t think it’s that expensive considering.
If you get the 3 day pass it comes out to about 40$ a night.

NYE is expensive no matter where you are and your getting 2 bands per night. Most bands fly solo on NYE.

hey man, umphrey’s ain’t for everyone…or at least not at that price. but for me it is.

although i was surprised by the Los Lobos opener. i’ve never seen’em and have heard mixed reviews, but they don’t seem like the best fit out there.

Taj is the shit though…

Guy…los lobos is the shit…of any of those bands, that is the one I would want to see the most. They opened for the Dead pretty much more that any other band (except the Neville Brothers…), so they must have something to offer. Plus “Circus” man…“circus”.

Oh man, you’ve gotta get Kiko. I just popped it on tonight, and there are so many great songs. I think it might be their first album with english lyrics (please correct me if I’m wong). “Circus” is on that album too…but it is not even nearly the best song on there, to give you an idea of how good it is.

fuckin’ kiko is one of my favorite albums. you can get free tickets to the los lobos show on friday in chicago by becoming a wxrt vip and registering for them. not sure if i’ll catch the umph shows. if i do i’ll see the nights leading up to nye. we’ve got plans already and we saw them nye '03 anyway.

yeah, new years last year was it? i dunno, but they’ve had horns before, not often though. i’ve never seen’em with them, so these should be some sick shows.
