Well, Umphreys was out of control.
What a 3 night run.
I missed the 29th, but saw the 30th and 31st and was blown away. These guys are playing so good.
The 30th was fun as I said above.
Los Lobos played really good. Jake came out and played with them to close their set. A great Not Fade Away > Bertha.
I thought Umph played good on the 30th, the second set was really good, great choice of covers Instant Karma was awesome, Cinnamon Girl = great. Then Bloody Well Right by Supertramp for the encore?! Kick ass. It got me excited for NYE and I would not be disappointed.

What a great time.
The second set closer of Steely Dan’s My Old School was so good. I’ve never heard any band cover them, and with the horn section it sounded really good. The third set was just pure maddness. The Triple Wide was crazy. I lost my mind. Everyone was dancing their ass off. The place was out of control. Taj Mahal came out after for She Caught the Katy. Perfect placement after the dance party before. I got to catch my breath for the home stretch.
The encore? DICK IN A BOX! With props! So damn funny. If you don’t know this song it was just on SNL and you need to hear it. It sounded great and the band was having a blast on stage.
Pay the Snucka closer and that’s all she wrote.
Wow.
Went back to my friends, drank champagne, and passed out around 6 or 7.
What a great NYE.
Brad it was great to see you. Hope your drive home was alright and I look forward to seeing you again at 10LKS where we can boggie to Umph all over again! ;D

His set really got the crowd ready. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. When he came out and played with Umph it was even better IMO.
You’ll Need Somebody On Your Bond and Farther on Down the Road during the second set was great, but the She Caught the Katy from the 3rd set took the cake. He was a great addition to the night.

I still laugh just thinking about it. They filmed the whole weekend so I’m sure it will get leaked soon, if not from someone in the audience. It was so funny and it sounded really good.
The sound in general was fantastic. Sound man Kevin Browning really did a great job the weekend. The Aragon can be tricky with its sound, but Kevin really out did himself. The sound was perfect front to back.
Man, I can’t wait to see Umphrey’s for St. Patrick’s Day in South Bend. They are playing so good now. If you have the means, I highly recommend going to see them.
^ i’ll be going to the urbana, grand rapids, pontiac, and south bend shows in march, brian. you going to any others besides st. patty’s day? that show should be KILLER.

I think I’m just gonna hit up St. Pat’s day. It’s on a Saturday.
I can’t get that much time off work.
We’re just gonna take the southshore train to South Bend. Should be no more then a 2 hour ride. It lets off like a mile or so from the theater and we’ll get a nice hotel to throw down at before and after.
There are a couple that are less then a mile away from the show.
We can talk about it later, maybe stay at the same one?
^ yeah, we were gonna be getting a hotel there too, let’s make it happen and get’em at the same place. good call.
