i seem to be a lucky fella. my girl can’t stand valentine’s day and said she’ll be pissed if i get her anything. instead we got tix to Jam in the Dam, that’s our present to eachother…AMSTERDAM in a month!!!
it’s obvious that Valentine’s is just a hallmark holiday that was created to fuel the main companies that benefit from it (flowers, chocolate, cards, etc.) and it’s just sad to me that there has to be a day dedicated to it.

I try not to let Valentine’s Day get to me because I have this weekend off work and Saturday is my birthday (22 years old). I try to be all cynical about it, or, maybe strong is a better word: sure I’m alone now but I’m so young and it’s just some arbitrary holiday, etc etc. But I know I’m still going to be all depressed tomorrow anyway.
i’ll probably just listen to some Elmore James or Hank and drink alone.
but at least i wont be a tool.

There’s really nothing that stops you from expressing that Love for anyone, at anytime. Valentine’s Day is a reminder that you owe YOURSELF to feel that Love at very least one day a year. Forget your every day grief today, settle back and feel the BEST that you are, and turn it outward on someone, anyone, everyone. Doesn’t matter who. It matters only that you feel IT.
