Wow. According to this list, time began in the mid 1950’s or so.
I mean, what did Mozart really contribute to music anyways?

I think these lists are more entertaining if you actually watch the show that’s attached to it. My favorite is still the best “one hit wonders” because they track down a lot of these folks which is great stuff. Either that or the greatest 80’s band which is also great. By far the worst is the top 100 90’s songs which just bangs home the point of how horrible that decade was for every genre except rap music.
Where’s Phish?
Or the Grateful Dead, for that matter.
^Or just Jerry Garcia himself?
Gershwin, perhaps? Or Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong or Miles Davis or Bill Monroe or frickin’ Beethoven?
I mean, Garth Brooks has sold more albums than anyone on Earth but the Beatles.
Ever hear of Jean Michel Jarre? First westerner ever allowed to perform in China, largest concert ever with 3.5 million people and about 80 million albums sold to date.
Not bad…
Yanni! Live at the Acropolis is the top selling music video of all time behind Thriller, folks. This guy has played the fucking TAJ MAHAL and writes music for the Olympics.
Pavarotti? You know, like the opera guy?
So, yeah… I think they are being a little lofty when they declare these the greatest artists of all time.
What a garbage list…can we really take anything VH-1 does seriously anymore? Is VH 1 classic still around? That used to be a pretty cool channel…just played old videos and concerts.
Hank Williams & Robert Johnson say fuck this list.
Somehow Lynyrd Skynyrd gets a spot but the Allman Brothers are nowhere?
Yep, Eminem is way better the Band.
Madonna is two spots ahead of Pink Floyd? Led Zeppelin is four spots ahead of Jimi Hendrix? Green Day is on this list? What the fuck?

I agree 100% with every single one.
On second thought, 99%. I would move Hall & Oates up at least 50 spots.
why the hell is george michael on the list. and why isn’t Elvis Costello higher up?
And on top of it all…NO WEIRD AL YANKOVIC!
Steely Dan should be higher than 82.
The Band is #85!! are we serious!!!
