vista firewall help

ok. so i just got my new laptop but now i dont know how to port foward/un firewall myself because im not used to not having a router. im just using an ethernet cable. how do i work this ish?

Ok, you right click on “My Computer” and go to properties. Which is also found by going to “Control Panel” and then to “System.” Then in the bottom left of that window you’ll see a list of options under “See Also,” and you’re gonna choose “Security Center.” Then on the left panel of that window you click “Windows Firewall.” And from there you can change the settings.

There’s two different ports for torrenting, the TCP and the UDP. You have to find them both and make both of them exceptions, for incoming and outgoing connection respectively. I’d also like to add that you’ll never really get your firewall to work good with torrents. You can still download stuff, but you’ll never get the speeds achieved with XP, thats my experience anyway.

sucks, but yo, find out if anybody at _____ school uses dc++ i used that shit at school, it was very very fast too, worked well for me, i’d get a full movie, prob 700 mb in about 15 min’s, shit was coming in so fast and filling up my hard drive so fast i had to stopp d/l for like month just to watch all the shit i d/l’d
