New Song
Really digging this song.
Very mellow, almost west coast feel to it.
This one sounds like it belongs on Story of the Ghost. Just imagine it fading in, or imagine it amidst the long list of SOTG outtakes. I think it fits right in, and I love it.
I love this song. It has a very subtle intricacy and the bassline is very surreal.
I am in love with this song after hearing the STUDIO version. I think this is the only case in my phish phandom that this happened. Both at AC and MSG after they played it I was like “meh”
^I feel that way about most of Billy Breathes and Undermined actually.
There are tons of Phish studio versions that I prefer. I’m probably the exception to the rule in that regard I guess. Usually the studio version is my favorite.
I just preordered Fuego and downloaded the complimentary Waiting All Night mp3. I’m getting excited, finally. Gonna revisit the Halloween shows while I wait for the record to arrive.
Threw Overstep into the cart too - lots of colorful records coming my way.
< I like how goofy and happy this smiley dude looks
Contrary to what my brain thought about this song, after a few listens I’m really loving this tune.
Can’t stop listening to this tune. Best studio song I’ve heard since Guyute.
I’m in agreement with the thread thus far. I wasn’t sure about this song initially, but I fell in love with it on Fuego. I can listen over and over. It loses some of the fullness of the lush, dreamy quality when it’s played live.
Was just listening to 8/12/2010 Deer Creek show and realized that the end of the Drowned jam has Waiting All Night licks in it. I wonder if they derived the song out of that jam or vice versa
^ I seldom listen to early 3.0 (2009 - 2011), but I might go back to hear what you are talking about here.
Years after its release, I still really enjoy this tune, especially the studio version. Since they debuted it, I have wanted to see them take this song for a walk. I’m not asking for a 15 min+ Waiting All Night, but I would still like to see them break away from ridged structure.
Great tune. A lot of Trey’s 3.0 material ain’t my cup of tea, but this here is some pretty decent tea.
