I heard this somewhere…what has everyone else heard, if anything?
Lyrically, I really dig this song. Thinking about the events of that day…
“I’m leaving you a message,
I’m leaving you a trace,
I’m leaving thoughts for you
I hope that time will not erase.
And when the moment comes
To read the words that I engraved,
You’ll find them on the walls of the cave”
Could these be inspired after thinking of the people trapped in the debris?
“I know you heard the question
But you didn’t make a sound,
And when it fell you caught my heart
Before it hit the ground.”
Two lovers having a heart-wrenching final talk, right as the towers were about to fall?
"But if you ever need the names
Of those you couldn’t save,
You’ll find them on the walls of the cave."There’s a special piece of everyone who died that day in the spot where the towers fell.
Look at me and time stands still
A mountain here is now a hill.
Look away,
Look away,
The time goes past.
These rocks will fall away at last.
Mountain now a hill… people watching the tower were encouraged to go to a safer place, b/c the towers would eventually crumble? Maybe sparing them the awful sights and sounds?
Maybe you will see it
As you’re passing by alone,
Below the moss forgotten
where some words that turned to stone.
It might have been an etching
On a marker of a grave,
Or maybe on the walls of the cave.
People who will travel to NYC from here forth will be reminded of this tragedy, whether they live in NYC or are visiting. It doesn’t matter.
Listen to
The silent trees
But still your words float on the breeze
Look away
I see them all
Carved into the cavern wall
This is one I’m not entirely sure of…silent trees?
Feel free to through your .02cents in…i’d love to hear it!
