well im really high everybody and id like to tell

What put you on the wagon?? New job?

I tell you what, “Keep on a Rockin’ Me Baby” is the worst of the Steve Miller hits. It’s gotta be.

A timeless classic.

^^You pose an interesting question that had no solid answer,
so now, the wagon has rolled rapidly away, without me.

::Puts on Journey From Eden and listens to some of Steve Miller’s best, instead::

I find Abracadabra to be considerably worse. “I wanna reach out and grab ya?” Really, Steve? Miller is one of those guys like Huey Lewis who seems to tour every year and I’ll bet I’d enjoy seeing him but I never go…

I’ve heard live cuts; he’s one of these guys that makes a point of singing everything very differently all the time. I wouldn’t be able to hack it.

But I’d take “Abracadabra”, myself; I like how you can sing it into a spinning fan and get a similar effect. I discovered that when I was like 8 and it was on the radio a bunch. Maybe it was a new hit, I don’t know when it came out.

But that “keep on a rockin’ me baby” is just wretched. It’s like if there was an Eagles Worst Songs compilation, it’d be on there. Even though it’s not even by the Eagles. That’s how much I don’t like it.

He likes to sing it different or play it different? In terms of singing, it may be him making up for not having his voice anymore…that could be it. If it’s playing them different well that’s out of the Dylan playbook…I never minded when Bobby did it.

Keep on Rockin’ Me Baby is one of those where I like the verses more than the chorus…it’s fine to sing along to but the chorus is a bore. Love the idea of a Worst Eagles Song compilation…I find I dislike almost every major Eagles hit outside of Hotel California. They’re all just so bland and boring to me yet I’ve heard more obscure Eagles songs like the Last Resort that I’ve absolutely loved.

I was glad when I realized how much I hate the Eagles. I hadn’t quite consciously recognized it.

Steve Miller likes to sing the tunes all different, but it’s more in a “I’m a jazz artist on the inside” sorta way that keeps you from being able to actually sing along, and ignores all the brilliance of the original melodies we all appreciate from the record.

I don’t know, I’m not even really-high-everybody anymore. All this keep on a rockin’ me baby buzzkilled it maaaan

I’ll tell anyone that I enjoy Don Henley solo a lot more than anything with the Eagles. I have a Henley greatest hits album but not an Eagles one.

I still think it’s more of a “I can’t hit the high notes anymore so I try to jazz it up to hide this” kind of thing. Debbie Harry of Blondie did something kinda similar where she sings a bit more jazz-ish these days but she still retains the melodies that she needs to, mostly because she still sounds pretty good.

Dood, just listen to dem opening notes on Fly Like an Eagle. It’s like the sky is singing, maaaaan.

I’m not really high right now, but I just want everyone to realize I think Steve Miller completely sucks.

The one song I can stomach by him is Jet Airliner. And it is a cover of an either better song. Shocking!

Jet Airliner is a cover??! Steve Miller’s alright. I wouldn’t say he completely sucks, that space is reserved for bands like Bon Jovi.

And maybe Kiss, but you didn’t hear that from me.

let’s get back on point…

everyday magic and its simple thi ngs like

condensation on a cup i mean think if u where a little moledule audience member and u saw water pass through a cup thad be fucking magic

yeah.

If Steve Miller was a drop of water, he wouldn’t be able to pass thru the glass.

Jet Airliner is a cover??!

It kinda is and it kinda isn’t. This Pena guy who originally wrote it recorded it in 1971 or something and gave the album to Steve Miller to listen before it was released. Miller recorded a cover for his new album (not that uncommon) but then Pena’s album never came out. I think he quit music to take care of a sick relative or something. Pena’s album with his version didn’t come out until 2000. It’s a cover but the original never came out so it’s a little weird that way. I will agree that Pena’s bluesy version is pretty badass.

Miller’s pretty good, especially some of his lesser known stuff like Space Cowboy. And I’ll defend Bon Jovi…that band was the shit in the 80’s…just pumping out great album after great album. Even Jon Bon Jovi’s Young Guns 2 soundtrack was badass. It was in the 90s with the Bed of Roses era when they turned into this Journey-esque chick band that the backlash started on them. I view them like I view Metallica. They were great but it’s over now.

And maybe Kiss, but you didn’t hear that from me.

Yeah, I’ll agree with this one.

If Steve Miller was a drop of water, he wouldn’t be able to pass thru the glass.

Not even with the pompadice of love?

Enter Maurice!

It’s not his birthday yet, but a bump just 'cause…

It’s a required bumping. You’re doing a public service.

Happy Birthday Timmy, you little moledule audience member

Fuck yeah.
