But shouldn’t we consider this… if, in the black community, it is acceptable for them to refer to each other as “nigger” as obviously indicated in rap lyrics, then, by that logic, it should also be acceptable that in the “whites who idolize black culture” community for them to refer to each other as “wigger”? It’s only non-wiggers who can’t use the term, as it is non-niggers who can’t use that term.
Just to clarify, I’m obviously being absurd, but political correctness is the epitome of absurdity. And although, as individuals we need to be able to speak up and express those things that bother us, I don’t know whether we can legislate to the individual protections of every sensibility.
But just so we are clear on the words that we may not use on the OKP, we should all keep a printed copy of the following list of racial slurs next to our keyboards to make sure we don’t violate the PC code of standards:
