Man, this isn’t fair to Forbin at all! I LOVE Forbin and would it far in the tourney but I can’t vote against YEM which is like the greatest tune ever. Snifff…sorry Colonel…you get an honorable discharge.
In my mind, YEM is to Phish as Dark Star is to the Dead. It’s the quintessential Phish song, and unlike the Dead with Dark Star, they never dropped YEM from rotation. There’s a good reason they didn’t play Forbin’s nearly as much as YEM. Not because it’s a better or worse song–both sides can be argued, and I’d agree with each depending on the day or my mood–but because it has the pure essence of Phish in it.
I would say Tweezer is more Dark Star-ish.

I love the lyrics to both. Really a lot.
I love both songs’ musical qualities … Forbins doesn’t have any complex written out fugue stuff, but the odd chords of the verses make up for that! They’re really close for me. I’ve always loved Forbin’s.

Two reasons - 1) it’s the underdog and I’m having trouble deciding, and 2) I’m more burned out on YEM, and I’m having trouble deciding.
Where I took Llama over Forbs in the last round… I’m taking Forbs over YEM… Rather hear a Frobs then a Yem at a show. If I could. Please, thank you.
Plus I’d like to see YEM knocked out b/c if YEM wins this thing it was a waste of time. Mostly.
