WEST REGION - Round 2 (#4DWD v #5 Coil)

no contest

yuppers

easy as dizzeasy! Coil should not have been here anyway! :-X

“The Squirming Coil” holds a place in my heart, but so does “Down with Disease.”

Godamnit if that jam out of “Disease” doesn’t get me every time. FuCk.

^7-11-00. Just think about the feeling you got right after the Moby Dick pause… then BAM, back to that main refrain!

Poor Coil. Its getting crushed, and is too good of a piece of music to be embarassed like this. But I still gotta go with DWD.

This is not even a question. If Free was here maybe this thread would make me think, but it’s DWD by a long shot.

I was in total NooB mode then, but hindsight is 20/20!!!

Disease (rocks!) is one of my most emotional songs for many reasons, but as for The Coil when The Chairman gets the piano at the end right with the world, it kicks all asses, makes you lose all thoughts and out into nothingness.

^
ass-hat vote.

i hate voting against coil, but disease is a monster.

um, hello… “jimmy holds the TanasRoot (sic)”

These keep getting harder and harder.

Coil is unique. And has no awful video scarring its past.

Troof.

And rastabilly makes an even better point. Not gonna lie, I don’t think I’ve ever really enjoyed a Disease jam…

Someone get this kid '97-07-22, STAT!

Coil has history and is a great vehicle for Page to shine, but if you voted for it, you need to put your shoes and socks back on and get off the lawn because DWD is so much more a killer.

Waiting for the time when I can finally say, a jam song defeats a ballad.

Wow, this bracket is TOUGH. Now I have to vote against Coil? Arrggh. I LOVE the beautiful Coil Page solos and even had a chance to see one live and it’s really an incredible experience. But you can’t vote against DWD. Even the studio version is pimp and almost every live version turns into some sort of monster highlight of any show. Sorry, Jimmy.

Coil is a ballad?

The Squirming Coil.

I should just copy what I wrote in the last Squirming Coil vs. some-poor-sap-of-a-song thread.
