What are mike shows like?

Absolutely. I find Mike’s basslines to be infinitely more interesting than Trey’s horn arrangements.

How’s the lot scene?

At a Mike show? Next to none from my experience.

Saw Mike earlier this year in Hollywood, awesome show, two guys split their joint wit me. Great times.

Girlfriend just got me tickets to the Atlanta show at the Variety Playhouse. I can’t wait!

^ Yeah, I’m psyched to see him here in Ann Arbor. The Blind Pig is about the size of my living room, so it’ll be fun to crawl up into Gordo’s lap during the show.

Will also be interesting to see how songs like Another Door translate to a full band, given that Mike plays all the instruments (save drums, I think?) himself on the album version.

the orange peel show is going to be good. i saw mike at Rothbury in 2008 and it was a great show. (even more so when Trey And Fish came up and played with his band)

^ Well, once Trey actually remembered to bring an instrument, it was.

“Okay it looks like we’ll have to get back to that a bit later. laughs Certain guitar-carrying people didn’t. Huh, I guess that’s a complete sentence…” --Mike @ Rothbury 2008

seeing mike in burlington, cant WAIT.

yeah i caught mike free in buffalo last year. probably the best show I saw that summer. the keyboardist can rip.

It goes without saying, that if you like Mike in Phish, you will like the Mike Gordon band. Murawski obviously kicks ass… but they’re all really good. I thought the extra percussionist really added to the show I saw last year (Dec 28th at Lupo’s in Providence, where they debuted an awesome new Mike song ‘Only a Dream’).

Saw Mike in Charleston, SC last year. They stopped once during a 2 hour show, played the last song, then came out and played an encore. Probably one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen. They really played well together and kept everyone dancing. You’ll love it!

Keyboardist is a local Burlington guy, Tom Cleary. He used to substitute teach in my high school/middle school band classes, friend of Dave Grippo’s. Kind of a strange dude from what I remember, but a rippin piano player.

anyone goin to the somerville show tomorrow?

Here is a crappy stream if you were interested. They just played Swamp Music (basically Possum with different lyrics. Oh and Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote it.)

Fucking sick. I met him at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville, Scott too. Worth every penny.

Mike’s band on this tour = best Phish side project ever.

True story.

^I agree with you there dude. Trey’s shows don’t let you truly see how awesome Trey is. Mike’s come much closer. He rips with this new band.

Ever? Hmm…

TAB in '02 was betta
