^Okay, so what’d you think, Sloth?
Basically I think they did great … there are some cringe-worthy lyrical moments that, honestly, I expected. They’re older dudes who haven’t been able to muster an incredible work in a long long time, so they had to totally relearn how to do that. I admire the effort and am enjoying the result.
I’ve been noticing the digital clipping/distortion more and more and I simply can’t believe it. A band this big, a release this important, and they freaking compress it so hard it’s literally distorting. Like, blatantly extreme distortion. Don’t know if you noticed it, but it’s pretty bad … lots of people complaining about it.
I got me the guitar hero III version today, can’t wait to dig in to that. The Guitar Hero version is a more conventional mastering job somehow … that’s weird, but there you have it.

You’d all be doing yourselves a favor getting a copy of this record. If anybody wants to trade BP, shoot me a PM.
I’m listening to Pink Floyd’s Live 8 set.
The second stanza/verse of Wish You Were Here is supposedly Roger Waters on the vocals, but I’ll be dang-higgety honk-diddled if’n that ain’t Emmett “Doc” Brown from Back to the Future.

totally digging it

this ablum’s kinda ghey and political, but I do like track 3 a whole lot. “3 the Hard Way” is what its called.

Some classic Trey on “Funky Bitch”.
iClips has been uploading some 10K performances from this year. The Mickey show is worth checking out for sure, if only for the grooving, mellow Eyes. Right now I’m on:

I never really noticed this until right now, but he’s got Jason Hann on the Djembe for a few songs. EOTO played after at the same time as P-Funk. I heard they tore it up, but I was way too busy being funked up to care.
I have been listening to this for weeks now… Just can’t stop.
