Weird. I heard “Rock the Casbah” on the radio a few days ago and imagined how Phish could cover that song - it included Karl Perazzo on percussion and Fishman on lead vocals and drums.
They could pick up the disc for cheap, too… it’s under $7 @ Wal-Mart.

haha, this is sweet. A MMW kids album!

I really do hate listening to little kids’ voices, though. So annoying.
so yesterday while i was cleaning i threw on some old mixes of mine from when i was a teen back in the Napster days and then i went through and imported some of the better songs.
lots of good stuff i remembered instantly and have even listened to recently that even remains in my rotation.
but lots of great stuff i haven’t even thought of in years.
so here’s the question…
does anybody here remember the SMOKING POPES?
ABBA…a song called “The Visitors”. CHECK…IT…OUT. Awesome stuff.
Stevo

^that’s a good one.
this one’s not that bad either

it must be awesome to be the Boss.
^I was a bit disappointed in his Magic album. Seemed a lil too generic…not much creativity in the songs. And as an effect, it hurt his tour after it since he played a lot of a Magic tunes at the show I saw. I did like the Rising a lot though…
Stevo
^agreed.
Magic < Rising
but Magic ok.

Shh…

I made eight of these puppies, to collect my favorite 70’s solo career material and assemble them like Beatles albums. I have four ‘Wrestlemania’ tapes with an ‘album’ on each side … just started transferring them to CDs last night. Because I really have time for that sorta crap right now.
Also gave The Final Cut a spin this morning ... most of side A. That album continues to strike me as incredibly awesome in places, and just completely horrible rubbish in other places. One song really pissed me off today -- that one with holding the silver haired lady's hand at the funeral and holding on to the freakin' dream. But the "Paranoid Eyes" tune that follows it is really great. I'll probably never know how to properly appreciate this Floyd record. Can't figure that one out - I'm a huge fan of The Wall. Aren't I supposed to like this one even more?
LOL! Considering I’ve heard a number of these tunes at the last two GNR shows that I’ve seen (my bro dragged me to them) I can’t say I’m that excited for this album 20 years in the making. It’s like a running gag by now. By the time it comes out, the Chinese might really have a Democracy.
Stevo

That CD is terrible.
Time for the real thing:

^ I think the song that she actually wrote for her album might be the best song on the whole c.d…I can’t remember what it’s called, but I heard it the other day and it wasn’t half bad…okay, maybe half.

here was a good score at the record store a few years back that i just dusted off.

just after the Last Waltz, Levon with Booker T & 2 of the MGs, Dr John, Paul Butterfield and the SNL/Blues Brothers horn section, and others.
half covers, half orginals. Not amazing but pretty good.
