What ELSE are you listening to now?

Driving around in my car today, I cranked the last three songs on Rush’s Hold Your Fire ~ totally and unexpectedly hit the spot.

Then it was much Who - “Why Did I Fall For That” (I think I played that song like four times today), “New Song”, “Cry If you Want”, and side one of Who’s Next.

Then I put in some live Yes from '71, and that got me back.

Kinda wanted to hear some Phish but couldn’t decide on a show that felt right. Played side one of my Green Sparrow LP this morning though. Pretty tasty, I like it so far. Still kinda getting used to it.

Mr Yimmy Herring on guitar!

Am in my home office this morning, have my door shut, chompin on a bagel with these sound tracks playing in the background. Just comforting to me because they take me back to a simpler time in my life when I was a kid, waiting for dinner to be done and watching the Little Rascals on WPIX the local NY television station.

You like hot stuff, Uncle George?

I like the banjo in this song. It’s so good it’s even mentioned in the lyrics.

This was a random pick at the library. It turned out to be great. I like pretty much every song. I made a ringtone of the intro to Wild Night.

I grabbed this one at the library to listen to Feel Good, Inc. I like the rest of it too.

I LOVE this album. A lot of people say Astral Weeks is his best, but I like this one better.

Astral Weeks and Moondance own, but Tupelo Honey and St Dominic’s Preview are good companion pieces.

^hmm I’ve never seen that cover art before

is that an official release? setlist?

not listening now, but while cleaning my house last night, i had an amazing vinyl-a-thon:

master of puppets -> led zeppelin IV -> the who’s “holligans” -> aja

it’s amazing how well a session that began w/ metallica and ended w/ steely dan flowed sooo well

“go to nassau” is an official release but not as good as most. the definite highlight of that disc is the “jack straw -> franklin’s” opener, which alone makes it worth purchasing imo.

I love Jack Straw.

you would.

John Browns Body “All time”. Without Kevin Kinsella its just not the same. Thats why “All Time” owns. Kinsella for the win!!!

I don’t understand that comment…

but on that note, the bonus live Althea tears it up!
