What ELSE are you listening to now?

My first listen to 70 Volt Parade at Bonnaroo 2005.

I like it, it is different. It doesn’t sound like the kind of high energy show like a TAB show. I am listening to the second set and he just started the Abbey Road suite, will throw my two cents in about the Bo Bice thing. I have never heard or scene this guy, just from what I hear on here.

Coldplay.

I bought “A Rush of Blood to the Head” a few years ago, found it to be forgettable. Then they were the big deal of Live 8 and headlining Austin City Limits Fest this year (which I hopefully will be going to). So I decided to give it another spin.

They are really fucking boring. It’s like they took all of U2’s crappy slow songs and put them all on an album. It scares me to think these guys are “the biggest rock band in the world” right now. We’re all gonna need an Xtra-large cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee if that’s the case.

yawn

I just got this Dirty Dozen Brass Band album - Medicated Magic. WOW it has special guests out the ying yang. Robert Randolph, John Bell of Widespread Panic, and Norah Jones just to name a few. This album has more energy to it than any other album in my collection i think. It is definately worth picking up.

Woah man you have the bonnaroo show. Awesome. I can’t wait till they release it on live phish or live bonnaroo. You are one lucky dude.

I got this album for my birthday a couple years ago - fantastic. Definitely pick it up.

blind melon is the most under rated band. they kick much ass. lately, i’ve been listening to the new gwar cd ‘war party’ and the new william shatner cd ‘has beeen’ that’s right. and it totally owns. some of the best written lyrics i’ve heard in a long time. and ben folds produced it.

OK Mr. Sarcasm… why does every thread on this board always have to lean towards the negative sooner or later? No matter what it is about. I am sorry for saying that I had no interest in hearing the show until all this bad-mouthing talk about Trey.

I have started to listen to alot of widespread Panic. Right now im listenin to Classic City and Light Fuse. Im also listening to alot of Tea Leaf Green, as well as Particle.

i can’t stop listening to steely dan…2-cd best-of called showbiz kids and most importantly Can’t Buy a Thrill

Steely dan is the shit

Hell yeah Soul Coughing is amazing. I got to see them twice, once when they were touring on that album and once right before they broke up on the El Oso tour. All three of their albums are great.

Right now it’s No Code by Pearl Jam. Aside from Phish, I can very safely say that Pearl Jam is my favorite band.

Also, I just listened to that Brothers past shit off their website, and I like it alot. I’m going to make a point to check 'em out when they roll through seattle and portland.

The first time I saw them was in Seattle right after grunge had been fucking huge and Seattle kids moshed to EVERYTHING. They started into a tune and the singer (forget his name right now) stopped the band and in said something like, “What are you kids DOING?! Is that moshing? Have you been listening to our music? We’re a groove band. Say it with me: grooooooooove band. Didn’t anybody teach you how to dance?” It was awesome. I got a t shirt from that show that’s so worn out that I only wear it on very special occasions, such as gigs.

^Soul Coughing, that is.

I have seen Mike Doughty perform… never Soul Coughing… and I am jealous now.

“Garcia” from the All Good Things: Jerry Garcia box set.

I just was looking this over this morning, and decided to go to town on it once again. I was listening to “Run For the Roses” during work, and now I have the first album on. All the extras in this box set are worth getting it by themselves. “Dealin’ From the Bottom [Studio Jam]” is such amazing early Garcia playing in the studio, it is amazing what that man could do.

American Beauty - do i have to say more…no, but i will. This is one of the most fantasic albums ever. Beginning to end it is great. I especially love Box of Rain. “a box of rain will ease the pain and love will see you through.”

^ I have a shirt that says that on it…I got it at the Gorge 7/3/04

HELL YEAH, RASTA!!

im tellin you guys…you especially rasta (cause you said you were gonna see em), these guys are SICK!!

serious, SERIOUS jams…so so dope…glad youre gonna check them out…ill be at the 9/15, 9/16, and 9/17 shows…i cant wait to see these guys again…

ps…just jammed a yardbirds album…not sure of the title…but the “shapes of things” was HOTTT…yep, three T’s…

Recently, lots of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Deja Vu by C, S, N & Y, Giblet Gravy by George Benson, Joy Spring by Joe Pass and a couple of Tal Farlow albums.

American Beauty is the first Grateful Dead album I ever listened to. I ran out and bought it and it is my absolute favorite GD album. Lyrically, it is better than any Phish CD.
I really enjoy their slow-downed, countryish, folksy sound. Workingman’s Dead is also very good, too.

i wasn’t being sarcastic actaully. I am still really excited for when they release it at livephish or livebonnaroo. That show was the highlight of bonnaroo to me. (followed closely by keller) but i am not about to bad mouth trey. But i am sorry if you think i was being sarcastic.
