I agree. I’ve never been a huge fan of anything else they’ve done but that album is $$$

Fantastic Album, one of my Top 50 of All-Time…I still remember when it came out in 94’ (so ahead of it’s time), my mind was blown from day one…
That follow up remix disk “Further Down the Spiral” was pretty cool too…

nice score at the record store yesterday- old school mellow groove.
Grateful Dead - October 3, 1976
Cobo Arena, Detroit, MI
Set 2: Samson and Delilah, It Must Have Been the Roses, Playin in the Band->Drums->The Wheel->Good Lovin->Comes a Time->Not Fade Away->Dancin in the Streets->Around and Around
There’s type 2, Playin style jams between nearly every song. Those -> are genuine segues. Stellar show, although I’m not a fan of 3 minutes of intro in NFA. I’ll attribute it to a miscommunication. No one knows if Billy wants to play Aiko Aiko, NFA, or Man Smart Woman Smarter.
Jesus…I completely forgot about that release. I know I have that somewhere and I don’t think I’ve ever even listened to it.
I just fucking recorded a Peter Tork show in Woonsocket RI and talked to the guy - whole autographed the perfect memorabilia bit & had a cool bit of chatting and took a picture with him. Listening back to the recording right now and it’s good!!
I had an afternoon gig in Cambridge today (during which I played two Monkees tunes & one song by John Winston Ono Lennon disc golfed today too muthafuckaz), for my friend’s art show (juleen jones!) and when it was over I stopped into Cheapo Records, spent $21.21 and got:
Monkees Headquarters - Colgems Mono! Psyched, cuz I had their 1st & 2nd albums recently on original label [mono too on those!] … and recently also nabbed their fourth record, and this one is the third album. Total original label vinyl puzzle piece thing goin on.
Cat Stevens - Buddha & Chocolate Box and Teaser & the Firecat - the two Cat albums I’ve been missing. I now have 'em all thru his “retirement”.
Jon Anderson - 3 Ships - just in time for Christmas! I’ve had this, but never officially, and vinyl’s my favorite.
Can’t believe it right?
well then I went directly from there to the Shoe Suede Blues show in Woonsocket RI, recorded it, met Peter Tork, and had him autograph the Headquarters record I just bought, that I just got thru tellin you about.

^fucking cool
anyway, i’ve been digging up this treasure:

seen this band in town a couple times, I’ll probably see em again on Thursday, this song in particular reminded me of some of Phish’s early compositional pieces, the way they change themes and stuff…the guitarists doesn’t do too much soloing in the traditional sense but I like his style …they’re supposed to be recording with John Keane right now, who’s produced albums for WSP and REM

I’m listening to the Shoe Suede Blues (Monkee Peter Tork’s band) show from Woonsocket RI 12/4/10 that I recorded! I’d love to type out the setlist right now but can’t cuz I’m busy, jeez’. I’ll be uploading it somewhere at some point. I’m really enjoying it.
I have a friend here in town who is a huge NIN fan. He likes everything they’ve ever done except for one album. It might have been that one, actually. But yeah, he’s always talking about how awesome Trent Reznor is and what a talented musician he is.
the ‘ob la di ob la da’ from this is really really cool.
np:
gram parsons - GP. totes suiting my mood this AM.
^ Nice. i love GP. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to decide if I like that one or Grevious Angel better, but Still Feeling Blue might always be my favorite Gram solo song.
