John Coltrane - Newport Jazz Festival

  1. My Favorite Things 21:29
  2. Welcome 11:06
  3. Leo 22:55

John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders: sax
Alice Coltrane: piano
Jimmy Garrison: bass

Well, that narrows it down!

Well, I think it may be possible to across some problems fitting this one onto one disc:

Set 2: AC/DC Bag > McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters, Harpua > I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) > Harpua > Izabella > Harry Hood -> My Soul > Sleeping Monkey > Guyute

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

^ okay, but you DEFINITELY wouldn’t be able to fit it if you include the encore.

so there. :lolno: :exclamation:

Checking this album out. Some of you may have heard her Rolling in the Deep song on the radio. Adele is shocking for two reasons…for one, she totally sounded black when I first heard her. For two, she’s kind of overweight…that’s not bad at all but I guess with myy cynical view of the record industry it’s surprising that a gal who isn’t a supermodel is making it on the Top-40 stations. So good for her. So far so good from what I’ve heard.

I like Adele.

my ex does a wicked cover of rolling in the deep.

I remember getting this CD and loving the LP style case. Awesome.

Been really digging their Sirius channel as well. Reminds me of their live show streaming website which I have forgotten the address to…

^weird, i have also been warming up to PJ again. They kind of lost me a little with Backspacer but I have been favoring them showing up in my shuffles the past week or so. Hope to get a show down here soon.

When it first came out, I wasn’t a fan of Yield… but after a couple years it quickly climbed my personal charts. Hoping the new PJ also just takes time to age on me.

^yeah, I was the same with No Code.

maybe Backspacer will come into its own 1 day. The self-titled one from 06 was among my favorite PJ from the day it was released.

No Code was the one they lost me on too. I was psyched after Vitalogy came out, thought they were really onto somethin that just as suddenly vanished & the next few were so much more bland … and then I admittedly lost interest completely by Binaural.

I have Ten > Binaural on vinyl, including Live on Two Legs, and I still have the Vitalogy CD cuz, shit. That thing’s cool lookin.

Should I catch up or what? Am I missing out on post-Binaural awesomeness?

Here’s how i rank them:

Vs. > Vitalogy > 2006 s/t > No Code > Ten >Binaural >Yield > Riot Act >Backspacer

Live at the Gorge box was a good release as was the concert film from Italy Danny Clinch did. They seemed to hit a good high in 2006 in general. There is also an (almost) acoustic live album out there from 2003 i think. Live at Benaroyal Hall? That’s good stuff too.

and also, let me add that Lost Dogs (rarities set) is as good as almost any of these albums.

yeah, pretty consistent band now that i think about it. Go PJ!

Nine Inch Nails–The Forum,London,England, May 24, 1994 soundboard

One thing about wading through boxes of tapes, you sometimes find things that you have no idea where they came from. Case in point, this NIN tape. Pretty sure it wasn’t a trade, as my handwriting is on the card, and I know damn well I didn’t tape it. Must have just dubbed it off a friend, and it certainly doesn’t appear to be CD sourced–“The Only Time” was split over the 2 sides, something I would never do! I joined the parts together, you can probably spot it if you listen hard enough. Anyway, it is a soundboard, Trent’s in a pissy mood, and it doesn’t seem to be on DIME at the moment, so here it is. Any more info is appreciated.
