What ELSE are you listening to now?

Dusted this one off the other day. It’s always great when it’s been years since you’ve heard a song or album but you still know EVERY word.

A man came up to me and said I’d like to change your mind
“By hitting it with a rock,” he said, “though I am not unkind”
We laughed at his little joke and then I happily walked away
Then hit my head on the wall of the jail where the two of us live today

Great album

^MINIMUM WAAAAGGEE!! HEEEYAAAA!!!

I’ve always loved this compilation since it has a number of his lesser-known hits but they’re all great. Tangled up in Blue may be my favorite Dylan song but I also love Groom’s Still Waiting At the Altar, Jokerman, and Changing of the Guards is awesome. Also Series of Dreams is one of the more unusual Dylan songs but it’s one of my favorites too.

Two disc set of the best Jethro Tull stuff you could ever ask for. Fantastic stuff. Gotta love a band that sticks a flute into rock and roll and makes it work.

^Under the Red Sky ftw!

Stream is a little too crunchy for my ears tonight… so, I’m diving into this delicious new Psychograss from a couple weeks ago! This is great stuff.

^ I can’t wait to see him & Glen Hansard next week here in Chicago.
Gonna buy the album there.

Hometown show for Eddie too. (he’s from northern suburbs of Chicago)
He always brings it for us.

I am actually jealous… Enjoy that little gem, it should be very cool!

Kings Of Leon’s third album, Because of the Times

Maybe their best album. Lame album title though. Actually only one of their five albums has a title I actually like! The second one’s called Aha Shake Heartbreak. I like that title. The other four are boring titles and not memorable IMO.

But yeah, the last five tracks on this album are hard to describe … very satisfying and emotive. Dreamy. Moody. Inspiring. I don’t know though, are these guys perceived as a boy band by the rest of the world? I went to a fansite once and I thought it was a Justin Beiber forum.

^ The people that like them, REALLY like them. Kinda like us w/ the phish.
But yeah,…I like all their albums. Because of the Times is great.

I just watched their Storytellers the other night, pretty good. Check it out if you can find it on Palladia.
Great guys too. I got to meet them on their “rise to the top” so to speak, I waited on them at a restaurant I worked at. Nobody knew who were they were.
Very quiet,…but nice. Shit, they put me on the list and offered me a job.
I’ll like them just for that alone,…let alone their good music.

The name “Kings of Leon” isn’t that great either. Maybe they’re just not good at naming things. Overall though they’re not my thing but I see why folks dig them.

 Good point. I don’t care for the band name either really!

I just came across THIS article about this guy who makes a lot of underwater sculptures…it’s so similar to that Eddie Vedder cover, I wonder if it’s the same guy.

Man, I was just listening to this the other day and it’s really frickin good song…I’d kind of forgotten about it. Was this song ever really big?..I can imagine it got radio play when it came out but you almost never hear it anymore…is it even that well-known? I’m just curious on these things.

Either way, I just love the title…”Too Old to Rock n Roll, Too Young to Die”…it’s like a metaphor for growing older and battling with the push from others to make you mature or something. Fantastic song. Give it a listen…I usually say just listen to it and don’t bother with the video but the video’s pretty funny at times.

^ Awesome song and band! JT is a must for prog heads.
