Elvis is great live… if you can get over the breathing at the later shows.

Being home this weekend has allowed me to spin vinyl for the first time in a while.

Great Animals tour show … I think it’s Oakland 5/9/1977. Set one Animals, set two WYWH, E: Money, Us & Them, Careful w/that Axe Eugene.
Holy crap, that’s sick. I need to get my grubby hands on that one.

Busted this one out again. Love it. Great piano work and really sweet arrangements on a lot of these tunes. It’s strange that I don’t really see her recreating this type of sound on her other albums which are somewhat unimpressive. Either way, this one rocks. Lots of good “angry singing” as well which I always enjoy. Don’t ever break up with Miss Apple…she’ll write a whole album on ya.
I watched Bridesmaids and they played Paper Bag during a cupcake baking montage. Good stuff.

Hope you guys don’t mind too much that I act like this is a KI$$ message board. Where the F is Alex, dammit.
So this record is a european compilation with four extra new songs. I guess it was issued around '82.
The four new songs are strange for a number of reasons … first, they sound like demos kind of. Second, they were never issued in the US I think, even though there are imports all over the place. Seriously, I bet there’s one in your sofa. Another weird thing, each side of this compilation begins with two of these four new songs, followed by four big KI$$ hits. Weird to me. Weirder still, I really like these tunes, … but they’re just terrible in a way.
So it goes w/KI$$.
One of the best ever

Been bumping this one nicely as it’s one of his newer live albums. Done on a boat/bar in Anguilla. Doesn’t get more Buffett than that.

And this song is absolutely gorgeous. Listen to it.
Just heard Bonnie Raitt do Burning Down the House… not too shabby.

yesssssssssss.

^back to back genius right there. I like IV better than Houses, not afraid to say it.

This is an album of remade classics, presumeably because they don’t own the rights to the original recordings. Not too bad though, pretty faithfully rendered.
What’s possibly the strangest thing about the fact that I enjoy KI$$ is that it comes in waves. I’ll be totally consumed by all things KI$$ for months at a time, then all of a sudden I couldn’t be any LESS interested. Just like I am with other bands. Except usually I still feel like “yeah, Phish rules man, I’m just not really into them right now …” … with KI$$ it’s more like, “… how do I possibly enjoy this stuff? Look at all the records I have though, I must like it.”
^I like IV more also. I’m kind of tired of Black Dog at this point but all of those songs just work for me. Battle of Evermore is maybe one of my favorite secret Zeppelin tunes.
Anybody remember “Me & Eddie Vedder” by The Rugburns? Seeing Houses of the Holy reminded me of that…
“bought it on 8 track! not on cd!”

That’s very cool indeed Kevin.
Thanks Bill … I think you’re in the minority of folks who can appreciate the fact that I appreciated that show. My brother’s reaction when I told him I was going was something like, “For the love of God, why??”
KI$$ is a strange beast that you practically should hate. But maybe that’s what I like - there’s something very rock n’ roll about your music pissing other people off! haha!

In fact … I probably owe it to my father’s complete repulsion of them that I’m a fan to this day. I wasn’t allowed to have any KI$$ until I was 12. I promptly bought their newest record that day.
