What ELSE are you listening to now?

Know what, I played both “pirate looks @ 40” & “volcano” last night at my gig. Decent enough tunes, people really dug the pirate tune.

I’ve got this on now. Often I’ve declared it my favorite ever album.

Whoa … that image says #5 …!

I’ve got an original at home, no idea what the number is.

On Happiness is a Warm Gun … luckily the office is quiet right now.

Yeah Pirate doesn’t seem like it’s much but it always gets cheers.

Who doesn’t love trying to hit that “Guuuuuun” high note late in the song?

I love Pirate Looks At 40.

Running grass, fishing, drinking beer, younger women… and pissing them all away.

Grew up on Jimmy Buffett. Both my parents were huge fans. Pirate Looks at 40 is probably my favorite. He’s got some really great songs if you can just get passed all the cheeseburgers in paradise.

Eh, I like the Cheeseburger too but, you’re right…he’s got a lot of chill tunes that work for some reason. Son of a Son of a Sailor is another. Saw him on Saturday night and it was pretty damn good…lots of more obscure things and a surprise bust-out of Scarlet Begonias. Apparently he does that one often but it’s the first I saw it…loved it. setlist.fm/setlist/jimmy-buf … 16eea.html

Did I really need to purchase yet another version of the Allman Brothers Fillmore Concerts? Apparently so. Good stuff.

^I’d be more pumped for that set if it didn’t have so many repeats from each show. Ya, I’m sure the jams are good but it could have had more variety.

Finally got a few albums by these guys so I’m checking them out. Love that mandolin!

Instrumental music is always good at the office. And this album is great. Has a peculiar mood to it. His first few records are a blast. I only ever had the first three though.

I seem to be liking this one more and more with each listen. She’s just so talented at putting out short, catchy tunes that are impossible not to single along to. I also found it was a good idea to cut the Swedish songs out of this one so it’s just a one-disc affair of 12 English tunes.

Yes, apparently I’m quite the pro-English pig.

And normally I wouldn’t mind but the songs are pretty lyric-heavy.

Commence Jerry Week:

I coincidentally sorta randomly put on Anthem of the Sun & Aoxomoxoa, stacked up on the turntable. I’ve never been that into the Dead, and my drummer gave me an extremely mild tongue lashing over it today at rehearsal. Like, he didn’t really say nothin; but I felt it!

I think this band has surpassed Phish as my current favorite band, but I haven’t gotten to see em live yet so I’ll hold out on that title probably till I do, even though I hear they’re pretty much the best live too…I’ve inadvertently gone through their discography in order and the transformation they undergo musically is so logical and smooth…Evil Urges and Circuital are up next I believe

this is one of the most powerful things I’ve seen in a long time, I’ll tell ya that much

Whoa, them’s fighting words. I’ll have to give it check it out.

Petty’s newest album. Can’t say it grabbed me on the first time. Some generic rock tunes…a few nice slower tunes. I’ve gotta give it another listen.

Petty’s second-to-last album. Can’t say I was that big on it. I do find I’m liking the Hypnotic Eye album more though…it’s growing on me.

I’m also doing a moe. education for myself and grabbing all of their studio albums to brush up.

Couldn’t find their first album online but these are the next two…I actually recognized a number of these from an old 98 live album I have. Really digging it.

Dr John tribute to Louis Armstrong, very awesome.

^Now THAT’S something I’d like to listen to. Love the good doctor, even if he once sold out for some toilet paper cash.
