What ELSE are you listening to now?

^ ??? Toilet paper cash?

I’ve given this a couple listens. Nice to have some new Gene Ween tunes even if maybe they lack a bit of that Deaner edge.

There are some great songs on this album though, with amazing lyrics that you would come to expect from Gener. Such as: “Fuck you all, I got a reason to live/ And I’m never gonna die”, and “I’m gonna get you high high high like a golden monkey”. I think the highlight of the album is three tracks in and called (For A While) I Couldn’t Play My Guitar Like a Man. I think we’ve probably all gone through a bit of that, but Aaron Freeman (that’s gonna take some getting used to) sure sings it like he means it. It’s a pretty perfect composition in my opinion, but just listen and judge for yourself.

Never really got into Ween but that’s a pretty sweet tune there. May check out more.

Continuing on my moe. exodus. This one’s not bad but with maybe more shorter “throwaway” songs. At least they feel that way since I don’t know them. As always, more listens are needed.

It does have the super badass Plane Crash on the album which must be heard if it hasn’t already:

That was pretty cool.

She’s always been talented and pretty. But I find that little boy look a little off-putting from one perspective. Found the completely bald look more enticing.

Sinead’s got an incredible voice. Very underrated. Sadly a bit ahead of her time too…her whole Pope-ripping thing was a protest of priests molesting kids and the Vatican doing nothing. Fast-forward 15 years and the issue finally came to a head.

Newer artists tribute to Sr and Leadbelly.

Elderly Woman is still my favorite PJ song to date… I burned through numerous cassettes and a couple CDs of this. Thank goodness for Spotify.

^That’s quite a heart attack there.

Some good points…some bad points…

Saw them Saturday Night. SO good.

Nothing specific, but an episode of the EXCELLENT anime Samurai Champloo got me interested in traditional Okinawan folk music. So I’ve been stumbling through Youtube finding things. There is an odd (to me, an American) high pitched vocal affect to some of the singing that is so beautiful.

Regarding that anime though…if you’re into anime and music, you want to check out Shinichirō Watanabe’s anime’s Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo. Great stories and superb music. In fact, the music is one of the most endearing and interesting parts of the animes. It’s why Watanabe made these.

Always hit or miss…I love those guitars they use for that weird sound…but the singing throws me off sometimes. Can’t get into that…I’d have to stick to an instrumental.

32 yrs ago this came out. I love this band. Esp the older stuff. Great Ep

^ I agree with exactly everything you just said. Great band.

You rarely see this on a message board.

I’m inspired to reply to everything just like that, from now on.

“You sir, are totally correct about everything in teh world.”

Wow and you too Glenn! I’m happy to agree with you completely.

One of the finest damn albums I’ve ever heard. Good stuff.

On a Moodys run. Great stuff.

The last few I heard were kind of “meh” but I really dig this one. Lots of catchy songs and some sweet jams.
