^ that is a great picture. Just look at jerry makes me smile, or makes me very sad, this time it made me smile.
As for the topic of this thread.
I have been listening to alot of bowie; Alladin Sane in particular, and The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the spiders from mars. For some reason I cant get enough of the songs “Drive in saturday” and “Time”
I have also been listening to Traffic alot.

nice. if you haven’t treated yourself yet to Scary Monsters I suggest you do so immediately. your ears will reward you.
^^I saw some of that Crystal Method show
after a short while I had to run away, crying
Yeah, if you’re in the mood for more techno, you can’t go wrong with the Method.
Uh…unless it makes you cry, I guess…

By the way, I checked out Ratatat like a few of you mentioned…in particular I downloaded that Seventeen Years and El Pico songs that Smoothy mentioned. They’re good songs and I was definitely bobbing my head to them…
But…
Well…
They kind of remind me of video game music. I mean I know they use real instruments and such but many parts were straight out of 16-bit video games…I felt like I should have been exploring a dungeon and fighting monsters or something. The songs were good but I’m not sure if I could listen to a whole album of it…

Last night I threw on Prince - The Work Volume 2, which is basically 4 discs of unreleased prince spanning from 1986 - 1990. It includes the great lost Prince album “Dream Factory”, which would eventually morph into Sign O The Times. Dream Factory is just crazy. So much funk.

All this Mama Mia hype got be putting this back in the CD player. It’s REAL good stuff. These folks were geniuses…

Of course, with that there’s NO way I’d want to see the anything to do with Mama Mia. If there’s ANY band that should be covered, it’s ABBA…it’s just not possible to pull it off. Plus I saw a clip of Lay All Your Love On Me from the movie and it made me want to puke. So there’s that…

I really can’t get enough RA.

truly their best
Like, Rheumatoid Arthritis? Or like, Ra the ancient Egyptian sun god?

I’ve got ZZ Top on while I sort thru someone’s accounts payable. 1990. Not my favorite ZZ Top album, but I do enjoy it. “Burger Man” & “My Head’s In Mississippi” are fricktastic. Most of the rest of it is fine, although when I’m feeling critical it sounds like a whole album of filler or soemthin. But it’s fine. They’re one of those bands where it’s almost like the whole career is supposed to be filler anyway.

^^We want the Funk(el)!

sir, i believe the man is speaking of Sun Ra. the only intergalactic jazz musician on Earth.
