What show are you listening to right now?

^nothing wrong with that one.

I’m tryin to get into 2000. Don’t know much about that year at all. So I 've been listening to this throughout the day starting with on my way to work.

05-23-00 Roseland Ballroom, New York, NY

1: AC/DC Bag, Wilson, First Tube, Ya Mar > Mike’s Song -> Simple > It’s Ice, When The Circus Comes, Back on the Train, Gotta Jibboo, Taste, Sleeping Monkey (1:40)

2: Punch You in the Eye, Twist, Waste, Piper, You Enjoy Myself, Run Like an Antelope, Train Song, Bug (1:40)

E: Boogie on Reggae Woman, Cavern

Taped for VH1’s “Hard Rock Live” television program. A hour-long selection of songs first aired during the Summer of 2000.

The Waste/Piper/YEM/ 'Lope part of this show is some solid stuff.

You picked one of the worst from 2000!

The night before is the junk.
A new source was just seeded on etree, too.
a

Thanks 4 the heads up.

The first 2/3rds of the show doesnt really flow all that well, and alot of the tunes are “standard” at best.

But I do really like that part from Waste to Antelope.

Ya Mar is good, too.

not as good as the one from NYE '69, though

^
Indeed, I really enjoy that “Ya Mar” as well.

One of my favorite versions. Nice jam, and it seems hardly anyone ever mentions it.

I just broke out some 2000 as well. I went back to 10/7/00 for the first time in a while and was still impressed by the solid performance all the way through. The boys didn’t do anything special. Shit, they didn’t even speak to the crowd. But they did play a great cross section of songs from throughout their career and managed to jam well throughout. None of the guys stick out as being especially hot, but instead all four were running on all cylinders and playing as a cohesive unit. This is especially true on the minimal and beautiful Gin jam, Mike’s, My Soul, Weekapaug, Twist, and 2001. The Bowie caps off the night with a very intense building jam. Finally the YEM encore is just what the doctor ordered.

Great show and a much better “last show” then Coventry.

“Fog That Surrounds” just started up. I like this arrangement.

“Divided Sky” was good, with an eerie/weird/unusual pause in the middle.

Really looking forward to that second set!

10-11-95 Compton Terrace, Phoenix, AZ

1: Stash, The Old Home Place, Cavern, The Divided Sky, If I Could, Fog That Surrounds, Acoustic Army, Julius*, Sample in a Jar

2: Possum, Bathtub Gin, Mound, Mike’s Song-> McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters-> Weekapaug Groove-> Llama, Suzy Greenberg**-> Crossroads, Hello Ma Baby, A Day in the Life

E: Chalk Dust Torture

*With “Buried Alive” tease. **“Sunshine of Your Love” (Cream) tease.

Damn. I missed the “Gin” jam through “McGrupp” b/c I was helping a nice old Puerto Rican man purchase a phone.

Bah!

10/14/95

1: AC/DC Bag, Cars Trucks Buses, Kung, Free, Sparkle, Stash, Catapult, Sparkle, Acoustic Army, It’s Ice, Tela, Runaway Jim

2: Reba, Rift, You Enjoy Myself*, Hello Ma Baby, Scent Of A Mule, Cavern

E: A Day In the Life

for some reason i almost like listening to taper pulls than sbds, you get that raw sound and energy you would at the show itself.

06-25-97 L’Aeronef, Euralille (Lille), France

1: Oblivious Fool, Dogs Stole Things, Taste, Billy Breathes, AC/DC Bag, The Old Home Place, Theme From the Bottom, Wading in the Velvet Sea, I Saw It Again, Limb By Limb, My Soul

2: Down With Disease-> Piper-> Down With Disease-> Meatstick*-> McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters-> Makisupa Policeman-> Cecilia^-> HYHU-> Rocko William-> Run Like an Antelope+

E: Guyute

*New original. ^Simon & Garfunkel cover, sung by Fish. +Trey introduces the whole band and crew

Set two of this show is pretty rediculous. The DWD->piper->DWD is just as awesome as it looks on paper, and the Makisupa-ized McGrupp is classic. Antelope seals the deal.

^pure sickness right thar.

…some tasty first sets on the docket for Friday evening drinking whilst watching Saux/Indians.

Trey is quite sloppy for this first set, but I really love the segue into Bag, the Bag itself, and the Wolfman’s is my favorite post-hiatus version. Glide bust-out is cool as well.

Set I: Julius, Roses Are Free -> AC/DC Bag, Glide, Anything But Me, David

Is this the first time hearing this show?
And the EPIC Ghost?!
a

That “Ghost” is indeed epic, although it gets a little too heavy for my tastes…I prefer more straightforward versions.

I am only listening to the first set at home.

I’m goin’ over my buddies tonight. We’ve started this ritual of hanging in his basement, gettin’ blown out and picking a set to rock out to.

So it will be the first time in about an hour when we kick this second set.

Its kind of like a book club.

But way better

OMG!
You guys are In FOR IT!!!
Can I come over?
a

I never appreciated Gotta Jibboo until I heard it at this show. And then to follow with Cool It Down… :sunglasses:

I’m definitely curious as to how this turned out!

Smoking second Set!

The Ghost is exactly as you advertised, and this may be one of my favorite Mango songs ever.

BTW A, my buddy is in Center Mo’, so you could come chill whenever the spirit moves you

Maybe I’ll take you up on that one of these days!
