What show are you listening to right now?

Mediocre Phish shows are still worth your while

they sure are, and sometimes thats just the way the mouse moves

First set contact. Nice. Is this one of the last Funky Bitch’s played before the Great Woods bustout the next year??

^I think they busted Funky Bitch out at Great Woods 95, not '94 … just being nitpicky.

This Llama is raging.

they never played it at Great Woods in '94…
maybe you’re thinking of Canada, which was a 49 show gap from the last time played.

LOL sweet. I remember reading about them busting it out after a long time upon fans’ request.

I forgot it was '95 and, now that I look at that ^, it doesn’t even seem like a big bustout.

^I think it seemed like a really big deal at the time too … didn’t Trey say on the mic (It was 7/1/95 I think) it was some kind of dedication to the fans? I remember thinking it was a big deal.

^ Yeah. It was Sugarbush '95 as a thank you to fans for coming along for the ride.

It was Great Woods, the night before Sugarbush. [You guys have to get your facts straight so I can stop being that dorky guy who has to correct everyone’s facts. Okay I’ll still be that guy no matter what you do, but you can help the cause, know’msayin?] And it turns out, it was played on 6/07/95 too, so whatever.

I’m getting back to 2/28/2003 tonight - set II.

So far I really like this show… I haven’t heard a lot of great stuff from '03 besides IT, and even then my IT is a muddy AUD. The DVD sure is clear though.

meh…facts are for librarians. I go with the gut.

Guts are for … uh … surgeons? I guess?

Set II

NICU, Ch. Zer0, Tweezer->Cities->Wading, Antelope, Frankenstein

What a Set! I hadnt gotten around to grabbing this show til this weekend, and burned it down last night. The great thing about this show for me, was I remember distinctly in this set as Zer0 ended and Tweezer cranked up that this show had the potential of going south.

Not that I dont love me some Tweezer, its just that
I’d seen some less than great versions around this time and worried that the band might not be able to get the energy back up(that was threatening to blow the roof off the Garden on this night) if the jam didnt quite gel.

Boy was I wrong! This Tweezer->Cities is TASTEY! The Antelope is a monster. And a bonus Frank taboot. The best way possible to ring in a New Year.

Get Goosebumps just thinkin’ bout it!

Goosebumps I tells YA!

GOOSEBUMPS!!

PS- Any of you guys at this show, was it just me or did it seem like 3/4 of the Garden was ROLLING on something?

1: My Friend My Friend, Ha Ha Ha, Stash, Prince Caspian, Reba, Dog Log#, Llama, Dog Log*, Tube^, McGrupp and the Watchful Hosemasters, Julius, Cavern

2: The Curtain, David Bowie, The Mango Song, Fog That Surrounds, Scent of a Mule, Harry Hood, Suspicious Minds, HYHU, Funky Bitch**

E: While My Guitar Gently Weeps**

#Trey explains that they are supposedly making an album of a bunch of "Dog Log"s and they need the audience to help make different versions. *Lounge-lizard style, along with high pitched screaming on command. ^In thanks to audience for helping with the “Dog Log” album. **With Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band) on guitar.

I was straight sober that night.

I just finished set 2 of 2-28-2003. Tweezer, Soul Shakedown Party, David Bowie, Round Room, Harry Hood. Waiting for the encore to get started.

I think this is the very best PH Phish I’ve ever heard. Other than this, I’ve only heard 2/26/03, a couple cuts from July 03, IT, 12/02/03, Brooklyn '04, one of the SPAC '04 shows (6/19 I think) and both Great Woods '04 shows. But this one from NY sounded like they really brought it to the stage that night, especially Trey. He was really on, almost no flubbing, decent singing … just a real tight show.

I listened to that Ebeneezer thing you guys are talking about, where Trey stays in Ebeneezer mode too long. I actually thought to myself, “Whether by accident or on purpose, it sounded good.” Either way, he was clearly in good shape that night, and all sounded good to my ears.

Can anyone tell me if the official release does the audience any justice? My copy is an AUD and the audience is VERY key to the listening experience … it’s so intense to hear how much audience participation there was at this show, and it’s captured real well on this recording. Granted, I have to reduce the low end on my player’s EQ by like 50%, but …

I prefer the AUD over the SBD.
Those 'o3 LP SBD’s were rushed and dont have a very good mix.
a

I think they’ve been remasterd …

Wait … the bundle of all three is only $43.50 right now! I’m so excited, yet so broke.

“Please Note: This releases do not come with ShowCase sleeves. They have been remastered, and come in an innovative single-width jewel case with enhanced artwork based on the downloadable graphics on LivePhish.com

are you talking about 2-28, 7-15 & 7-29?
