They played Knoxville in '96, and ignored us for a LONG time. But they came around! You can’t be EVERYwhere at once. I don’t think they’re trying to insult or offend Texas.
I personally, have been to Texas twice, and I really never want to go back. No offense, that’s just me. Though, Austin sounds very desirable.

Hey, up until last year, Dec-99 was the last time Phish came to Michigan. Them not going to Texas is awfully weird since that’s a much bigger and more prominent state than Michigan and with more people and a LOT of nice venues to play in. Why no love for the Bomb Factory…home of Tweezerfest? It just seems that Phish likes to stick in the midwest and the East. This is kind of why I dislike these “mini-tours” they do for just a month…it’s them going to the same venues and they never branch out to other areas.
they don’t play texas because texas sucks. there i said what everyone was thinking but didn’t want to say. you want to see 'em, get on a plane or in your car and go to a show just like everyone else. that’s what i’ll be doing this summer. even though they’re playing in my state (CO), it’s still about an 8 hour drive to get to the show from where i live. you don’t see me bitching about it.

yeah the closest show to me since target center '00 is Alpine Valley, and that’s 11-12 hours by car… I’ve seen lots of shows since then.
i can’t imagine not living on the east coast. never have to worry about where phish is coming to cause they’ll always be at least a couple hours away 
i actually visited texas for the first time earlier this month… it really is gorgeous in the late winter/early spring. it was sunny and around 65-70 every day, no humidity. and the landscapes are gorgeous. but, yeah, wouldn’t want to mess with the texas law/evangelicals…

I thought somebody in the band or management said that they really didn’t want to play in Texas ever again after fall 99? True, they also said in 2004 they would never play anywhere again, I just remember hearing that during that fall tour. I think it was Texas and New Orleans. But you know how these rumors go.

I think some Texas shows would be pretty sweet, especially if it was in Austin. I have never been to Texas, but I can’t think of a better reason to go than to see Phish. But good god Hank, I didn’t realize ND was THAT far away from everything. Crazy too because if you lived anywhere but Fargo, it would be REALLY far away from any sort of Phish show. Phish should do a Plains Tour, kinda like the Island Tour but like 5 dates in TX and 5 dates in ND. That would filter out the devoted fans from the casual ones, especially the ND shows.

…Sorry for the Bitch…And yes I agree, Texas sucks,but i live here…But again, as far as the drug laws go, On the books, yes you CAN go to jail for anything less than two ounces in Texas, but on the books in CALI, you can also go to jail for anything more than 1 ounce…So…if I got caught in Texas with 1 oz and a 3/4 of weed and got caught with 1 ounce and 1 gram in Cali, I would be in the same boat…In reality, nobody goes to jail in Texas for simple possession…Especially if you live in a metro area like dallas, austin, houston, or San antonio…they will simply take it from you and write you a ticket for 100-200 dollars…then go home and smoke it with their FAT PSYCHOPATHIC WIVES WHO TRASH THEM WITHIN INCHES OF THEIR LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVES!!!
I like Texas. I’d love to go to some Phish shows there. I’ve been there twice, been harrassed by rednecks both times, but when I went to Bonnaroo I got harrassed by the locals there, too.
