What's the BIG deal about Myspace?

Stalking, it’s all about the stalking. Anything else and you’re probably lying to yourself.

i’m on the facebook oh kee pa group thingy, funky told me about it, so there I be

I like myspace for promoting my shows, and thats about it. As someone who gets paid to fill rooms I appreciate this tool. If I didn’t have to find 500 people every two weeks to watch live music, I probably wouldn’t use my myspace at all.

I hope you’ll all sign up to this new site. I think we could make it rock!

I think we need to start an oh kee pah myspace page

^I think we have. Myspace is great for music and keeping in touch with friends around the country. I found great uses for it. It’s much easier than calling people everyday.

I suggested this once but felt as if a higher up would have to put it together…YEM where are u?

I concur that myspace is good for keeping in touch. I always thought Facebook was for teenyboppers so I’ve never bothered with it.

Hell, it’s how I convinced Ollie to come back to the Pa…

I’d argue it’s the other way round to be honest. Facebook is much stricter with privacy, a simpler format and easier to find people from schools/work which is ultimately what keeping in touch with people is about. Myspace is good for bands, but other than that the music that automatically plays and annoying backgrounds on people pages etc seems more teenybopper-esque to me.

I don’t really think facebook is very private, I mean, it tells your friends EVERY thing you do. When you add friends, when you write a comment, when someone sends you a message, it tells everyone. I think that’s lame. That’s why I don’t really fuck with facebook.

You can remove all those options though if you want and send private messages etc. Facebook is far more orientated towards actual friends and people you know rather than random internet people, which myspace seems to be. Each to their own though.

You can turn all of those off and you can decide your privacy settings. IMO, Facebook is much more professional than MySpace. Each page doesn’t take 20 minutes to load because people load their pages with glitter and other shit. Each Facebook is the same, and it does what it’s supposed to do.

Oooooh, double burn!

Question: Why would a message board create a Myspace/Facebook group? Yet another place to look for activity? I believe that seems redundant, I believe.

note: I have neither as I am not a musician or teenie-bopper, and connect well with the people from college/hike school that I would desire to anyways.

The Facebook/MySpace thing is very simple. Drunk/stupid high school and college girls take pictures of themselves looking hot or doing hot/drunk things and post them on My Space/Facebook. Horny/Drunk high school and college males click on their female friends’ myspace/facebook pages so they can see said pictures of their female friends and THEIR friends looking hot or doing hot/drunk things. From there, they click on the myspace/facebook pages that are linked on the original page and check out THOSE pictures of chicks looking hot or doing hot/drunk things. Then they click links from there and the cycle never ends.

Now as for why these drunk/stupid high school and college girls put these pictures of them looking hot or doing hot/drunk things on myspace/facebook in the first place is beyond me. I assume the drunk/stupid thing has something to do with it. Either way, that’s about all it is. Apparently these horny/drunk high school and college males don’t realize that there is also something called porn on the internet that is just as accessible and far more entertaining. Oh well…

Lesson concluded…

Stevo

Well pin a rose on your nose.

I feel that way too. There really aren’t very many people I “miss” from hike school or college. I’m happy with the people who I still know from high school, and, in some cases, I know too many people already from the crazy hike school years.

so yeah, that’s why I don’t get my MySpace on.
