When are they gonna finish reba?

anyone know the last time they whistled?

was it such a catastrophe that they decided to never finish the damn song again?

Coventry

they whistled at coventry?

(my heart was broken by then and i couldnt bear to deal with coventry in any capacity, i only saw the “wading” since hampton when i knew they were back… seriously, 2.0 broke my heart and it hurt more to see/hear them than to not see hear them and preserve my memories)

was it any good or was it part of the general trainwreck?

i did note that they didnt whistle in hampton and i think maybe greek theater 95 was my last whistle, if my memory serves (no tape)

The Reba was one of my favorite moments of Coventry. I don’t remember if the whistling part was played especially well…I’m sure it wasn’t. It for sure wasn’t anywhere near the botch level of Glide or Stash or Wedge

Should’nt this go in ‘Live Phish’ Discussion?

no, it should probably go in the individual song discussion board

perhaps… sorry, its hard to get used to other sections to talk about phish in since we basically have a single topic board and it is difficult to compartmentalize it much beyond, say because of the nature of our forum, a trader and sales forum

is there a forum faq?

No faq. The forum police must be lonely ;D

i think i have had 2 out of 3 new threads moved so far… seems fairly heavy handed here thus far considering the nature of the culture/music/scene

either that or i already pissed the wrong person off here

don’t be offended by threads being moved, it’s no big deal and is not meant as an insult

just trying to keep things organized

Personally, I prefer it when they don’t ‘finish’ Reba with the whistling and final chorus.

It seems anticlimactic. Bring on another song! ;D

ty

from what i remember, Reba was one of the better executed songs they played at Coventry. i’m so drunk. anyeay, i don’t remember it being bad. bad. abbaaaaad.

DISAGREE!

but i have never met a reba i didnt like

=D

i also don’t remember them wihstling then end of it, but i bet i bet they did. it would make sens.e. cuz it was supposed to be hte last one. i’m sorry.

sorry for what?

i enjoy a good kiss kegger!

I agree wholeheartedly. The whistling, in my opinion, ruins the end of the song. They usually do this awesome build up and then, almost telepathically, they end at the exact same time out of nowhere. Basically just a long way of saying it’s anticlimactic.

Maybe this poll would interest you…

“they end at the exact same time out of nowhere”

Fishman always does a specific fill to signal the end of Reba (the end being before the final “whistling” segment).

^ Great avatar. I need a shirt like that. A play on a silly Christian idea combined with an obscure character from Star Wars (which, as a 31 year old American male, is a part of me.) It would be 1% as funny and imaginative if it said “Chewie is my copilot.” And Nunb is sorta unpronouncable.
