Never would have thought I’d be back in…
i kind of bowed (?) out after lemonwheel, did catch a few (6) after the ‘break’, moments of goodnees, but many, many “trey wails on the geetar and the crowd goes wild” poopiness,
that being said (or written) the downloads of hampton blew me away!!!
I know its been said that they didn’t “JAM” enough, but for me Phish is and has always been a do anything band. If they are into it then I am into it.
A long, long drawn out Jiboo or a dead-on farmhouse? Bet the house every time!

the majority of the shows i went to were before the first break. those were my favorites. after that i kinda drifted away and didn’t really care as much. i went to two post hiatus shows mainly because my buddy got me a ticket and it was close by. i had a blast but it wasn’t the same. then we did coventry and that was that.
i’m pretty excited about this time around though. like buffalo bill said above, even though they didn’t do a ton of 30min jams at hampton i thought the way they were playing in general was refreshing to hear. they seemed to be excited to be back.
I’m just excited that my first show will be the tour opener!!! I can’t imagine the anticipation you vets are feeling

Anyone know why the weather channel plays so much Phish???
I remember hearing Divided Sky and Esther on there before.
Used to turn the weather channel up real loud in my dorm so my
roommate couldnt hear me having sex. He was pretty weird.

and fuck it up old-school again.

I psyched that I’m going to the 1st and last show this summer (and 12 in between) I predict that the jams will just get tighter and tighter as the tour progresses. I’m really lookin’ forward to some new music, I hope they try some new stuff out!
The lot scene might take a while to develop into the carnival atmosphere of yore. I’m worried that the vendors will get hassled more so than in the past. The venues are sure to want to keep tee shirt sales inside. Hopefully not though 
I can’t freakin wait!! wish I had the means of getting to the tour opener since I didn’t make hampton, still all the more it’s making me that much more excited about the shows i am going to. after the ticket fiasco that was happening with systems crashing! not having seen them really play in 5 yrs, and imo 2000 was end of the super energized phish maybe even 99, but not the point, I think this summer is gonna F**n rage! I just hope people have respect for the venues, I remember the days when the phans would actually clean up the lots afterwards and not leave lot’s trashed! hope this happens once again! safe travels to everyone!
I’m excited because I went to Coventry and am really ready to not have that be the last show I saw Phish. Also, I’m going to Asheville and am really excited to see them in a small-ish venue! Also, my wife wasn’t able to go to Coventry and I’m excited for her to get her fix.
Now, all I think about is am I going to see this song or that song and I am really excited. I don’t even care what they play, because I am sure to see at least one of my favorite songs…which since its Phish…there are numerous favorite songs!
I forgot my main reason… this band has been my life for five years. When they broke up I was a month from getting into them, and I was 14, so I missed out for sure, mainly because of age. I’ve collected all of their shows since Page has been using the baby grand, every one, although I seldom listen to anything before 1997. Doing five shows, including the final three of the first leg guarantees me some epicness… a Mike’s, YEM, and other goodies.
i’m ridiculously excited for this tour because i get to see the boys for the 1st through 5th or 6th times. in between deer creek and red rocks, my 1st child will be born. shit what a great summer this is gonna be bringing a new phish lover into the world.
I’m excited becuase it’s been over 6 years and Phish shows are more than shows they are events.
If only Phish would play burning man I’d go.
Almost forgot heard Phish being played during a stoppage in play for the Vancouver Canucks v. St. Louis Blues series recently.
