why is there little talk about the primaries here?

I would have thought there would be some conversation on them considering the time of year, or is the pa a nice oasis amongst the noise of candidate promotional talk?

shhh!!

Well, this is how Billary handles pressure, SEEEEEE YA!!!

The peeps in this country only know who they don’t like and it’s usually for some superficial reason that has nothing to do with weather that candidate will be a good pres or not. Once every unsavory candidate has been weeded out then we choose the best of what we have left and later wonder why it came down to THOSE 2!

I’m Canadian, there’s my excuse.

That’s excusable in a lot of ways.

The ok pa is decidedly negatively politically charged.

In terms of algebra that would be: (-)pc

Somewhere along the line we gained a couple of electrons.

In any case I think Obama is going to run away with it for the dems but the GOP is still a race and, where the winner if NH will have an edge, it is far from over. At least thats what I think.

Let’s start a voting bracket!

Well part of this is due to the fact that politicians NEVER follow through with what they say so you can basically never really listen to what they promise because it likely won’t happen in any form once they take office either because the candidate doesn’t care or because Congress instantly shoots it down or passes a watered-down version of that promise that doesn’t change anything. So that leaves some to pick a candidate based on religion or on various issues like gun control or abortion which is stupid in its own right because these are dead issues as they are and half of these politicians change their stances on these issues anyway to cator to their party.

So what’s left to chose? We have nothing but superficial reasons to choose anyone like just trying to figure who may be the most intelligent. For example, I don’t like Hillary because she’s insane and evil, I hate Romney because I can’t stand his fake hair and don’t want to look at it for the next four years…plus he seems uber-sleezy. I don’t like Huckabee because anyone who pardons a racist because he “found God” really shouldn’t be running the country. I don’t like Edwards since he’s basically using his wife’s illness to make himself look better and more compationate which is disgusting. I don’t like McCain because he’s a worse flip-flopper than Kerry ever was. I don’t like Rudi because the only reason he’s even a candidate is because some terrorists crashed some planes into the city that he happened to be the mayor of. On the flip side I like Ron Paul and Obama because they both seem fairly intelligent and may actually think through their decisions before they make them. Of course, Ron Paul has no chance in winning anything so I might as well not even mention him.

Of course, people aren’t talking about it because these are just stupid caucuses. Have you really seen how the Iowa caucus works?..it’s not like any type of conventional voting process and there’s so much back-dealing and other garbage that it’s hard to tell what’s accurate or not. It’s only mentioned because it’s the first form of voting that anyone has ever seen on these group of candidates so it gives people SOMETHING to talk about. It’s kind of like the preseason in the NFL…it’s exciting at the time because it’s our first look at our NFL teams since we haven’t had any football in so long but in the end, they mean virtually nothing.

However, I AM quite pleased to see frauds like Guilliani and Hillary do poorly. Apparently it means that Iowa is more sexist than it is racist. Good times.

Why does it say “Nader 2008” under that awesome picture of Johnny Cash?

thats a new album cover.

How does she keep losing her way to the kitchen and end up on a podium surrounded by cameras?

the bastard’s message is true on so many levels. except i like mccain fine.

Well, the other day my mom told me (my mom had to tell me because I skipped out on the last election, the first of which I was old enough to vote in) that you can write any name on the ballot that you want. It doesn’t have to be one of the candidates, you could vote for yourself if you wanted to.

Maybe we should all vote Fishman as President.

No Ron Paul fans? He seems to have a popular following on sites like digg etc, although I think that’s probably more reflective of the student demographic according to what I’ve heard on the radio.
I think it’s good that you have such a seemingly healthy political system compared to the UK though, sure there might not be anyone you are completely happy with, but at least the candidates are quite different. I guess there is a lot of motivation for people to start a fresh given the current situation.

I urge you not to do this.

What chance of a reunion will have then?

(mind you, giving ol’ red the presidential pardon could improve chances).

Even as a bloody foreigner I find the US elections terrifically entertaining - I am enjoying the contributions of many candidates. Especially the fact that you have a woman and an AfricanAmerican in with a good chance of running, I love Huckabee’s Chuck Norris endorsement, I love Ron Paul’s surprisingly large support from the internet generation. It all makes for a pretty decent race.

As for their actual politics… I think the only true way to tell if any of them would make a good president is to put them in power and see what happens (obviously an impossibility). So it’s all guesswork at this stage.

i’m a big fan of Ron Paul. he just seems honest and decent, which are far better qualities to have than any big endorsement, pie-in-the-sky-promises, slick-talking politician out there seems to have these days. except for maybe Obama. i am shocked he lost in the NH primaries to the shebitch, BTW.

WORDTOTHEMOTHERFUCKINGSTREETS!!!

yes to: ron paul, barrack obama
no to: huckabee, giuliani, clinton
