Well, the other day my mom told me (my mom had to tell me because I skipped out on the last election, the first of which I was old enough to vote in) that you can write any name on the ballot that you want. It doesn’t have to be one of the candidates, you could vote for yourself if you wanted to.
Maybe we should all vote Fishman as President.
No Ron Paul fans? He seems to have a popular following on sites like digg etc, although I think that’s probably more reflective of the student demographic according to what I’ve heard on the radio.
I think it’s good that you have such a seemingly healthy political system compared to the UK though, sure there might not be anyone you are completely happy with, but at least the candidates are quite different. I guess there is a lot of motivation for people to start a fresh given the current situation.

Even as a bloody foreigner I find the US elections terrifically entertaining - I am enjoying the contributions of many candidates. Especially the fact that you have a woman and an AfricanAmerican in with a good chance of running, I love Huckabee’s Chuck Norris endorsement, I love Ron Paul’s surprisingly large support from the internet generation. It all makes for a pretty decent race.
As for their actual politics… I think the only true way to tell if any of them would make a good president is to put them in power and see what happens (obviously an impossibility). So it’s all guesswork at this stage.
i’m a big fan of Ron Paul. he just seems honest and decent, which are far better qualities to have than any big endorsement, pie-in-the-sky-promises, slick-talking politician out there seems to have these days. except for maybe Obama. i am shocked he lost in the NH primaries to the shebitch, BTW.

Exactly! In fact she should really be every MAN’s candidate! If you really think about it most men would love to be with a woman like Hil. First of all she has her own money! Second she is smart as hell which means when you are playing another couple in Trivial Pursuit you’d win all the time. Also she is a total hardass and takes no shit. Except when it comes to one person. Yes the most important reason she is my candidate is she stuck with her man after public humiliation and scandal. Now that’s a good woman. So from all that we know she is a Smart hardass that’ll only take shit from her husband. She is exactly what the country needs right NOW!
This is a problem with the whole collegiate system - 18 states are currently considered battleground states, the other 32, I guess it doesn’t matter how you vote.
These states represent 207 electoral votes against 331 from the other ‘decided’ states (148 Rep - 183 Dem).
Hey, I like Ron Paul. I’ve seen some VERY good interviews with him and he basically agrees with me on almost EVERY issue except him abolishing the Federal Reserve (which won’t happen anyway). The only problem? He’s not going to win since his party won’t support him. It’s a lil worthless to get excited over a guy who has no shot. I got excited about the Nader thing a few elections ago and even voted for him and it’s all so pointless…
Generally, it’s because the only reason she stayed with Bill even though he’s been cheating on her since the Arkansas days is because she meant to ride his coattails to further her own career. Generally, that’s both dispicable and pathetic. And don’t fool yourself Mr Furley…she would only stay with you if you cheated if you were A) Loaded and B) Had loads of political influence. Sorry.
