Do you like the pre-charge part of yem? With the great composition and beautiful progressive music. Or do you like the post charge segment? With the FUNK or crazy jams and vocal jams? I choose the pre-charge segement because it is just so pretty. Seriously gorgeous piece of music! The second half isnt half bad either…you?
I love YEM, I prefer the composed part, it is beautiful.

the composed section is the same every time, everything thereafter is what I love about phish…

ooohhhhh! looks like we are not insane after all golden. dont get me wrong i LOVE the post charge…but the composed sections of phish is what i love about phish. the complexity. believe me i adore the jams like my own son, but i love the composition too.

The composed part is cool, but at times I fast forward to the jam…is that sh_tty of me? This is prolly my favorite too…although they change everyday…its always in the top 3.
The composed section is far more consistent. Take your halloween '95-'96 and the other elite YEM jams and I’d take the jam section. but if its overall, the composed part.
i just absolutely love the composed section…it is what made me love phish in the first place. of course, i love the song as a whole, just a brilliant piece of music, composed and jams
Gotta go with the composed section. The part where Fish hits the woodblock and then they cruise back into the composed section is one of my all-time favorite Phish moments. The ALO version is very potent in this area.
difficult poll spooks, yem is such a beautiful song it’s hard to judge which part i love the most. i voted post charge just cause it’s different every time, it makes the yem distinguishable. gives it character/personality or something…

Composed, but only because of the build up to BOY!!! That’s always different in some way to me, and it was always my favorite part of any show they played YEM, (see SPAC 6/20/04)
It’s so hard to choose. I think for the simple reason that the very first note of the song through to BOY is the nicest piece of music I have ever heard, I have to choose the composed part.
It’s hard to choose, but I went with the composed section. That opening is amazing. I love that classical (could you say baroque-esque?) feel that YEM has with those arpeggios.

they can make it quite beautiful. The 8/14/93 “YEM” is an example of this. Page sounds gorgeous.
