Your 2010-11 Chicago Bulls

^^woah there, big daddy.
I know that his HOF speech is who he is. What I meant by pathetic is more that he was STILL holding a grudge, as well as what he said to his kids. Something along the lines of “sorry you have to grow up in my shadow” and things like that. Really!?!?
And to invite the guy who was picked over you in high school, and the coach that slighted you. Just let it go. It’s not like he thanked them, or anything. He made it point to embarrass them in his speech. Just let it go. Everyone knows that you are the best to ever play the game. So why the need to embarrass the guy who was chosen over you in high school?
And it’s not that I was shocked, at all. I just found some of the things he said to be absolutely readicculus.
And I don’t feel the need to go into the whole “didn’t follow Jordan very closely” comment. Born and bred in/around Chicago.
Usually I back what you say Bastarde, but I found that last comment to be pretty weak. :unamused:

I have nothing wrong with Jordans HOF speech. It was plenty real and plenty raw and that is what made Jordan so good, his desire to be the best. He talent was from desire and I think the speech showed that. It definitely wasn’t meant to be eloquent or nice. I’m sure it pissed some people off though.

I don’t really think saying the Pacers are dead meat is talking smack. And why should you get a free pass from someone talking smack against you cause you suck and are under .500. All the more reason to talk smack.

Jordan knows what’s coming. Just listen to what he said at the anniversary game.

Yeah, that line came out wrong where it looked like I was saying you didn’t follow his career or something and I’m sure you did.

I just thought it matched his personality perfectly from what I remember of him though I tended to dwell on the negative when I remember now. Now I appreciate that this is probably a guy who wanted to win and crush his competition more than any other athlete out there. To be that hypercompetitive, you kind of need to be a jerk about your peers and especially about people who doubted you…he’s not the kind of guy who “let’s it go” because if he did, he wouldn’t be Jordan…he doesn’t have the ability to let it go. That’s why he came back with the Wizards, is a compulsive gambler, talked about how he could still play in his speech and still tries to “compete” by being an owner of the Bobcats…the dude can’t help it.

And yeah, that was a weird thing to say to your kids. But, fuck it, they’re millionaires…I don’t feel sorry for them.

Saying the Pacers are dead meat is like Ohio State talking smack to Youngstown State before their annual football game. Whether it’s warranted or not, it’s bad karma. Unless it’s a rival, be a graceful winner.

If I was an Ohio St. (they suck btw) fan I would feel completely fine saying Youngstown St. is dead meat before we played them. The limit is definitely not crossed on that one. If, say, I started degrading their fans that would be a turn to ungraceful town.

Hey Bastardo, pass over your code of conduct so I can wipe my ass (hopefully it’s not hardcover) with it!

Announcers can’t even talk after that…only laugh.

hopefully get there around 6:30!!

Man, Game 1 was too much…I thought the Pacers were never gonna miss, we just could not stop their shooters, thank god they went ice cold at the end…Boozer needs to STEP UP and play better tonite, D-Ro can’t do this all by himself…

Can’t wait to hear Pippen in the Booth again tonite with Stacey and the Funk…

GO BULLS!!!

I wasn’t saying you were crossing any lines of taste…it’s just really really really really fucking lame to talk smack on the below-.500 Pacers when you’re the #1 seed. Really lame. That’s all.

And given how you guys barely survived, I’d say the smack talk is even less warranted. Not leading the entire game until the final minute doesn’t scream “dead meat” to me. Still, Rose looked sick but it’s becoming clear that he might be the entire offense. It’s looking like LeBron-in-Cleveland where the whole offense is “here ya go, Rose! Do something!” Not sure if that’ll fly in later rounds. And great job on Roy Hibbert…that dude was nowhere to be seen in that game.

And wow…given how the other high seeds are doing, I guess the Bulls are fortunate. Spurs looked pretty weak and Duncan and the boys were out of it against Memphis (and yet their free throws kept them in it). And I’d heard about how Tony Allen was better this year but hadn’t seen it until Sunday…wow, what happened? Lakers? Ouch. And is anyone surprised at lack of defense losing a game for the Magic? Howard covers up so many of their defensive deficiencies that you forget how much the rest of the guys suck at it.

And Ray Allen’s play is exactly why you can’t count out the Celtics. They keep doing THAT. No way should they have won that game. And Denver/OKC was easily the most entertaining game of the weekend. Great, up-tempo play by two young teams…try to catch these games!

^You are right, can’t win a title on Rose’s back alone, Boozer needs to DOMINATE like he knows he can for us to get to the Finals…

How bout both the Nuggets and the Knicks taking bad shots at the end of both their games!!?!?!

Ray Allen is clutch…

Lakers and the Spurs better watch out!!!

And poor Dwight, had the game for the ages and still lost…Talk about needing guys to step up!!!

Let’s just get it out there. Can anyone beat Derrick Rose right now?

Fuck no!

Hmm…maybe Paul Pierce…maybe Wade…probably Kobe…of course they may have none of those guys on Rose in the playoffs. The Spurs may have an answer but I don’t know if they’ll get there. I think you just need to score more to take down the Bulls…all those scores are kept low…score in the 90’s or so and you probably have a chance.

Not surprised at the lackluster show by New Orleans…that Game 1 win seemed somewhat flukey to me. Kobe didn’t even need to score and the Lakers just dominated Game 2. The Grizzlies however looked quite good in their game 1 win but they lost also though I didn’t get to see it. Disappointing no-show by Denver against the Thunder in that 2nd half…of course, that’s a George Karl staple there.

lol @score more. Brilliant analysis!

I don’t see you providing any brilliant ideas…

Of course, you’re the guy who defended Vinny Del Negro so…

I think the team that puts the ball in the end zone most will win tonight.

I liked the former coach! Wow you got me! You’re such a corny ass troll. How are things under the bridge? And have you found anyone yet to go to a show with. I hope you come to DTE so we can finally meet. In fact come to my section because we will need someone to fetch beers for us!

Well, you must be a huge Clipper fan these days. Heh…you call me a “corny ass troll” yet you stick those types of digs in far more than myself. Eh, no biggie. It’s all fun to me…it’s just sports after all.

And yeah I’ll be at DTE. I can never get with these show meetups though since I go with my own group and it’s a hard sell to get them to stop what they’re doing to meet a bunch of folks I know through the internet. If we get there early I might be able to but I’ll likely be working that day and won’t get out until 5 or 6 (and another hour to get food, go to show, etc). And you’re in a “section”?..I’d never want to be in a pavilion for a summer Phish show…I went straight for the lawn seats. Less security and all…

And wow…we’re seeing a trend with the Bulls and Celtics. Neither team is exactly playing their best and their flaws are showing for both but, still both teams are making the plays at the end to win. Might be a sign that the two may be the teams to beat, even with the Celtics being shaky lately. I don’t see the same from the Magic or the Heat (who even blew a lead in the 4th quarter of game 1). The teams that win these games late have it going on.
