Your First Concert (Plus 1st and Last Phish song)

Loggins couldn’t be more in agreement with you.

7/18/03 is nothing to write home about.

^
That show has 5 songs that I could “do without,” as the kids say.

My first concert was Lollapalooza '92 @ Star Lake, PA. It was amazing & overwhelming to see so many bands that I loved in one day – Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Ministry, Ice Cube, Red Hot Chili Peppers… and also the Jim Rose Circus sideshow!

1st Phish song: Llama
Last Phish song (as of now…): Farmhouse

Excellent! ;D

Awesome!!! :o

first concert…can’t really remember unfortunately. i remember seeing Dave Matthews Band with my dad when i was probably around 12…might not have been my first though.

first Phish song: Wilson
last Phish song: The Curtain With

^^^where did the random 7.18.03 bashing come from?

of course its nothing to write home about but there’s not much from that tour prior to that that is worth writing home about.

the Disease jam is still pretty sick, no matter how hetty you are. and Bathtub–>Mango was fun.

^^ There was a mention that you heard a Disease and a Hood at your first show. I’ve agreed before that the Disease–>Catapult was great, but the rest of the second set is just awful. I’m a fan of Twist, but that couldn’t salvage the set.

Are you kidding me there was nothing prior worth riding home about? 7/9-7/17. Everyone of those shows is better than 7/18. Hey I don’t mean to knock the show so hard I just was so disappointed at this show after the previous night at Bonner Springs. That drive was just horrible from Kansas to East Troy. Maybe that had something to do with it.

not the best show but i still had a ton of fun at it. i made somebody’s day in the lot by trading my pavilion ticket for their lawn (it was just my friend and me and he had a lawn ticket). the disease -> catapult is fire. first set was a lot of fun.

Wish I could remember whether they played it or not. Although I remember it being real exciting that they were playing at our prom, what I remember most about that night was Gerry Daniels not being able to go to Jones Beach where the rest of my friends and their dates were going after the prom. She kept insisting that her parents wanted her home by midnight, and I spend most of the night trying to convince her to just go with me. I was convinced that I was supposed to get some that night on the beach, it was all clear in my head, and I had my rubbers and everything was right. I placed so much pressure on this one night to get that job done, that the rest of it seemed almost inconsequential. Too bad I let a very cool night become such a torture.

To make matters worse, I kind of backed away from her after that. And even though I would be moving to college to start in summer session within a couple of weeks after the prom, many years later it dawned on me what a shit I was to her over that. I tainted her prom night as well as my own for a freaking orgasm. How powerfully pointless they really are.

It’s one of those many screwups in my life that I wish I could correct or apologize for.

You’re DAMN right. Loggins was UNSTOPPABLE in the 80’s. Everybody cut, everybody cut.

Stevo

My love for burritos has, indeed, begun to cool.

Fee, I disagree about 7.9–>7.17 all being better. I would say 7.9, 7.13, 7.15 were all better than first night of Alpine, but no way 7.10, 7.12, or 7.17 are any better than 7.18.

7.17 is a very songy, standard, uninspired show. Nothing worth listening to twice. The Wolfman’s maybe, I guess.

Zibbitty-bop

First concert experience was Hootie and The Blowfish some time in 94 or 95 here in Auburn. I was 14 and I somehow managed to burn a big hole in my friend’s shirt with the cigarette that didn’t quite make it out the window from the back seat of the car. Good times

First Phish I heard live was a raging My Friend My Friend 11/15/98 in Murphreesboro, TN. It still gives me chills to hear it.

Last Phish was Coventry for me as well :frowning:
…to be continued mutha fuckas w00t!
